I just installed this drive (500 GB version) into my MacBook about 2 months ago, it's amazing and it's like having a brand new computer.

Commonly used apps/files are cached to the SSD memory so related tasks are extremely fast.

I heard about the patch.. but I didn't believe it'd actually work.. If it does, that's great to hear.. I also didn't know the MomentusXT drives used SLC memory, that is good to know, too..

I think users who want big capacity in one drive and speed for apps and the o/s should buy the Momentus...

The velociraptor is the same price but delivers good performance "all of the time". Although the price per mb is a-lot higher $129 500gb momemtus vs $129 150gb velociraptor :(

I thought the raptor I had back in the day was 15,000rpm... why are they only 10,000 now?? And the seek time is down to 3ms? I believe mine was 5.4 or so .. still was a whole lot better than IDE drives
