That movie has to be the most fucked up flick I've ever seen.
I have never felt so uncomfortable after watching a movie, ever.

heh...you should read the book. pennywise is really fucking scary, and if the book was made verbatim into a movie it would easily get a hard R or NC 17 rating. It's very graphic.

That's hilarious. I have the DVD from years ago when the director would leave free ones at video stores for people. Did you make it all the way through the movie? :)

Probably "the ring" for me.
Although there's probably some sick other movie's I've watched and that I've already forgotten.
There's this Japanese movie where the guy gets his feet sawed off at the end. That was pretty freaky, but also very boring for the most part.

mopek1 10-26-2010 03:43 PM

The Exorcist and The Changeling ...

Perfecto Dollars 10-26-2010 03:46 PM

I love scary movies, but very few actually do scare me.
But these are probably in my top 3.

The first Descent is really good.. (second was nothing worth watching)
30 days of night, really good (the sequel was bad)
Íls is totally different to both above, but got me feeling scared.

Check them out:

The descent:

Set your DVRs for Dead Set, the zombie mini-series on IFC this week(5 nights in a row). They showed part 1 last night, but it's being repeated at various times this week.

The first episode was great.

"Magic" - an old, fairly unknown flick with Anthony Hopkins...thanks to seeing that movie as a kid, I still can't stand to be left alone with a dummy to this day...

"The Eye" - the original version, not the shitty remake...I don't normally fall for jump scares, but this had one that caught me by surprise.

as mentioned before "Audition". It's best to read as little about it as possible before seeing it...it's more fun to watch it unfold without anything to spoil the ride

I'll second that. Enjoyment from this flick is dependent on not knowing much about it before seeing it. Turn down the lights, unplug the phone and surrender to it. You will be freaked out.

Another one like this is Lake Mungo. It's a small Australian fake documentary about a dead girl. Some great natural acting and creepy tone that gets under your skin -- but its another one that needs your undivided attention to pay off, and don't read reviews or it'll be spoiled. It almost feels real, its so well done.

on Netflix Instant watch:

Cyber Fucker 10-26-2010 06:01 PM

Shit. it looks like there is a lot of great movies I haven't seen yet. I guess I need to find a time to catch up.

One of the scariest videos I have ever seen was a music video by Yeah Yeah Yeahs music band called Heads will Roll. I think Karen O is still alive. Here is one of the frames from that music video:

And me.
Freaked me out as a kid. I watched it on a video my parents had rented and told me not to watch. For once I wished I had listened :)

I'm not sure if I find this one scary as much as I do just freak-deaky...

But I consider ------------House of 1000 Corpses------------ to be an almost perfect movie.

I love every bit of it.

A Serbian Film.....

Funny just watched that a few weeks ago... I got no lead in..someone just asked me if I wanted to watch "A Serbian Film" I said sure...I'm slovenian thats like next door to Serbia.

To be honest...it a hard to stomach film...but at the end I said its really just like that over there.... pre war post war etc.

Then I read the reviews online...because I found it hard to believe people could watch the entire film...and reviews are dead on.

Film is pretty wild because its so well made... well lit. well shot. Thats what makes it soo fucked up.

Best Quote from the movie..... *hands up in the air while saying it*

"Newborn Porn.........."

fyi that scene involves delivering a newborn baby... raping said baby...and killing said baby. While the mother smiles watching.

And thats a mellow visual from the movie.

Movie ends well.... its a damn good movie. Its basically "the aristocrats" based in serbia... despair of the people. Fucked from birth *see above* to death.... see end of film lol

maxxtro 10-27-2010 06:28 AM

My favorite horrormovie of all time is Psycho

But maybe thats not "obscure and twisted" enough.
