spazlabz 11-20-2010 07:52 AM

she is hot as hell and can drive an Indy car well but nationwide series does not seem to be her bag at all. I like her but she'd be a joke at Sprint Cup

In all fairness, most drivers that seek a career in NASCAR usually start at the bottom, racing saturday night local short tracks and slowly over several years work their way up the ladder until they break into NASCAR and then have to work their way up to the top which is Sprint Cup. It takes A LOT of experience to race at the top level.

Danica entered NASCAR this year in the Nationwide series with only one or two practice sessions to get a feel for the car. She then went out and raced the biggest race of the year at Daytona for her very first race only to be caught up in someone else's wreck.

She got caught in other wrecks and A LOT of guys have purposely wrecked her over the partial season she ran ( Indy came first ) and that hurt her stats as well. Last night at Homestead in the last race of the season she qualified 5th and finished 19th. She raced really hard and passed some cars.

I've said it before that NASCAR is a tough nut to crack and very few driver from other series have had much success. Dario Franchitti won the Indy car Championship, moved to NASCAR and had a very mediocre few seasons before going back to Indy Car and winning the Championship agin his first year back.

I'd see Danica at Daytona when she came to race the Rolex cars and I didn't like her attitude at all. She was very cold and snobby. She's changed tremendously and it's now fun to listen to her and watch her at the track. I don't think she will ever make it as a top driver but I do think she will improve on her stats as she gains more experience. I'm really looking forward to see what she can do next year. One thing to remember is even though she ranked 45th she made several million this year by racing NASCAR and that's a very nice paycheck to bring home especially if you're having fun doing it.

Thanks for the compliments on my photography.:thumbsup
It's about the only thing I have worth contributing to this forum :)

I've posted some Danica shots in the past but can't find them so maybe you can :winkwink:

Here's a clip from Danica's first ever NASCAR race

My Dad did some SCCA racing back in the 70s. Campaigning a VW Type 3 Fastback built all to Hell, a stock Triumph TR-3 and a Triumph GT-6 with a Chevy 350 and a four speed, which SCCA forced into A Sports Racing, and that took a lot of the fun out of the GT-6, Dad and his all-volunteer crew had their hands full. Dad rolled the TR-3 in a Gymkhana right in front of the woman he was trying to impress because she was a semi-pro driver and hotter than a firecracker and Dad figured that the only way to get a date with her was to win.

Needless to say, when the car rolled, Dad ended up hanging by the harness with the car perched on the headlights and the roll bar with transmission oil dripping into his helmet; Dad did not win the race.

Oddly enough, Dad lost the race but won the woman who sometime later became my Mother. I wish I could remember her but she passed away when I was very small.

Mom has been gone since I was a little kid and Dad is now going to do VSCCA. He found an Allard and is going for broke on this old pile of shit.
