These sort of "bill stuffing" is going to get smacked down hopefully. Or be forced to itemize (how much exactly of my check that you charge me to receive the money you owe me is to pay the employee pressing the button? lets see it on the stub)

Not exactly on-topic, but close enough for jazz.

standard practice around here, you should see my bank's fees you will shit bricks.

Makes a lot of sense actually. It shows the way the sponsor thinks about the affiliate. Read between the lines. There's a lot of stuff like this.

I get your point, but..

Go with what sponsor makes the most profit from your traffic. Changing a sponsor because they charge $5 more to send a check just seems stupid imo. What if the cheaper one makes you wait 2+ days longer to get your check? Or on average converts just 1 less sale per period. Is the fuss over the $5 check fee really worth it?

Try telling your hydro company or the government that your tax check will have a $12 fee for you to send them your money.

Any fee to pay someone money they've earned is ridiculous. You should charge them a fee for the inconvenience of using a paper check in this day and age.

mountequinox 11-24-2010 03:35 AM

To me it is all ridiculous.

I seems most revshare/affiliate programs are offering BIG bonuses if you send them 100+ sign ups per month (How many people actually make these?) or $75 PPS specials where you need to generate at minimum $250+ in sales first before they will send you anything plus you need to send them an email notifying them you participated in the special $75 PPS within a specified time frame and finally you have to wait to see if any sales generated don't look fraudulent to them.

On top of all that they nickel and dime their affiliates to have a check sent to them for $0.44 cents. $1 at most if overseas.

I'm sorry but I'm in the same business as all of you and it appears to me that that a lot of the revshare/affiliate programs out there are just as deceiving as some websites are to their consumers in regards to billing practices

Join today for $1.95 and get free access to 100 other sites.. In small "quotes".. $49.95 will be billed to your account if you don't cancel within 30 seconds. (Exaggeration)

Same thing is going on with $7 charges for revshare/affiliate checks and the misleading advertising on the consumer end.. It is all wrong in my opinion..

dynastoned 11-24-2010 03:50 AM

out of all the checks i've ever received i've never paid a dime for one.

brassmonkey 11-24-2010 05:38 AM

that tops the one i found $6 for a damn check.

CamTraffic 11-24-2010 05:49 AM

Well most of sponsors dont charge anything for checks anyway.Usually high fee are applied from non usa sponsors.

WiredGuy 11-24-2010 05:00 PM

That's way too high. A reasonable amount would be the postage fee plus a nominal amount for the check, $1-2 max. Beyond that, its simply a way to skim off affiliates.

correct.

Konda 11-24-2010 10:26 PM

They probably use a company like chexx inc to send the checks, who charges the programs like $5 + $2 per check and they don't want to cover those costs themselves.
