Just got a rather odd and unreadable email from GFY/AVN So spammy I couldn't get through the first paragraph... reads like a Don Lapre' pitch... so sad.

How did you get our email's? Did you purchase them or when the mod switch for the weekend done was the GFY db 'borrowed'?

@sicone: We never "got" anyone's email.

If you click "Advertise" on the bottom of the
forum and request a rate card, you'll see that
mailers are a standard advertising option.

We submitted the creative and it went through
the official mailing channels.

When looking at previous creatives, we saw
that they were all super graphic-heavy so we
decided to take a text approach.

I believe in your User CP (top left) you can
opt out of such mailings.

@Mods: If for any reason you feel that I've
disclosed anything harmful or in anyway
misleading, feel free to remove this post.
It was never my intent to incite such
security concerns, so I just want to be 100%
forthcoming so everyone has peace of mind.

P.S. I encourage you not to go crazy
unsubscribing. The mods here are good people,

Imagine yourself in our place for a second.

You just invested a substantial amount of
time and money acquiring a property and
fixing it up for the purpose of selling high
quality, SAFE links to other people. Would
you go on a public forum and announce
to the world "HEY! I'M GOING TO SELL
LINKS ON THIS SITE! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!"?

Of course not. It would kill your business
model dead in its tracks. Nobody wants
links from a site that everyone knows is
selling them.

With that said, once the product is released,
each report will contain 100% documentation
of ALL links created. This information is for
paying clients only. The less people that have
it, the better for our clients.

For people that are on our launch list, we WILL
send out examples of our sites beforehand.
This will happen closer to the launch date.

If our sites aren't up to your standards, then

Frankly, you can take the model that I
documented and do it yourself. All you
need is the time, money, knowhow, team,

Many eye tracking studies show that
columns of ~4" or less are easier to read
and skim - especially by email. If I'm
writing something on a forum that I
particularly want people to read, I will
write it this way. For the same reason, I
use short sentences. They get read.

I've had some people ask why or tell me
that its weird, but nobody seems to mind.

Your logic is flawed..the way you write in 4 inch columns is annoying I would say for most readers.

The idea of studies is to use the info and then take the pieces that you feel overall may have some value...dont follow and react to them exactly. ( use common sense , thats why you have it - or dont in some peoples cases lol)

Example:

A 2009 study found that no one has ever died sleeping in a USA 24-7 Mcdonalds ...that doesnt mean to live longer go and sleep at your local Big Mac store! .....:upsidedow
