Yea but you're violating ToS if you aren't a service provider like a PC store, ect, that shit isn't meant for regular users to be buying.

hows it compare to video charge?

raymor 07-04-2012 08:32 AM

My most expensive software purchase in the last fifteen years was about $45 for some DJ software a few years ago.

For graphics and video I use some of the same software Dreamworks uses, price $0. For general desktop use, the same OS as the NSA, price $0. In some cases it may be a little less convenient, though. Of course, in some cases it's far more convenient - try emailing the lead developer of MS Office and getting a fix coded within 24 hours.

I was recently provided a Mac full of software, so I'll get get to see what it's like being confined to the walled garden.

Spudstr 07-04-2012 08:32 AM

we currently pay almost 20k/year for our CMS software :(

BAKO 07-04-2012 08:34 AM

What a way to put it! I understand what you mean but I personally think macs are real nice. Just run your flavor on linux or bsd on that mac.
I'm not sure what kind of programmer you (likes to have every bit of control over his OS?). Interesting to hear though.
