To make money in porn.
Find something that you can do, which hasn't been done to death and can't be copied by 100s of other people.
Research it until you know it better or as well as your target market. Make it personal and as if it's a piece of you. Give it a unique twist. Things you can't do well, find people who can. Set out a business plan and strategy with targets. Then be ready to work very hard and lose money for 6 months. There are no short cuts to success that really work. Hard work is the least important, having a great idea and the talent to do it are what really counts. |
i cant afford to make money in porn... :(

I typically do not mind Paul. However, I also make it a point to not get sucked into his banter.
This thread however, looks like two broken records, Markham and DVTimes, seeking attention. :2 cents: |
Don't "Find what works and rinse and repeat".
If you don't have a very good idea of what works, educate yourself. While you rinse and repeat, the market is leaving you behind or copying you. Always be building and adapting. As Adam says most porn is free. So find a way to present your porn in a unique way that creates the impulse to buy. Treat customers with respect or they won't respect you or your product. |

Thank you for this cookie cutter advise, Paul. Anyone could've said it better.

I was thinking about what Jeff had posted and many more. About working hard and clever, 8 hours etc. Hard work is what labourers do and it doesn't make them rich. Work clever only applies, if you know what to be clever about. Telling people to build a better mousetrap is not any help if they don't have a clue what it is or how to find out about it. See this for some clues. https://gfy.com/showpost.php?p=19070507&postcount=1 |

People have pointed you in the right direction, if you can't take it from there, you do not deserve to be in business. If people need someone to give them the blueprint, explain every little detail, to the point of developing direct competitors, you're helpless. At that point, you (in general terms, not you specifically) need someone to help wipe your ass, and deserve to die out (like many of the 2001 guys have done) or be forced back to the fry-o-later and paper hat where you belong. Your business model was a fluke, and based on good internet bubble timing, nothing more. :2 cents: |
Translation: To make money in porn you have to have money first.

all you need is a cup to catch the drool when you've over medicated yourself and a computer ... PROFIT.

I could teach people to shoot, but that wasn't what we did that made us successful and I'll bet no one here will ever get it. So they can carry on the abuse. Quote:

The "Build a better Mousetrap" system, only works if you know what a mouse is, how a trap works and have the skills to build it. Otherwise you're still fucked. :1orglaugh

Find something that you can do, which hasn't been done to death and can't be copied by 100s of other people.
Product is everything. It's too easy to dismiss a bad ratio as bad traffic. A good product has a habit of attracting better traffic. Go figure. :winkwink: This is the toughest part, until sex changes it's always going to be the same. so the way it's presented makes presentation the key. Still this has been thoroughly explored and it's a good bet that if it's still around it worked, if it's not, it didn't work. Yes simple logic, wait a while. Let's use "Sex in a Vehicle" done to death and been done for well over 20 years. So take the basic theme and adapt it. Normal girls in 2012 don't get into a van with 4 guys and fuck them. Drunken girls might, students hard up for their rent this week might turn tricks as a part time job. Hookers will. Use that as the reason for her to get into the van. Or better still a camper van. Don't shoot it Gonzo or POV, done to death. Shoot it as a normal scene with the camera observing the action. Or as Voyeur with Hidden Cameras. Tell the viewers they are hidden and show how, or make out they are phones with good cameras. In reality use real cameras bolted to the sides of the van and shooting from different angles. Most important is to make it believable. This is 2012 and the customer will not swallow 1998 content, even if it is HD. It has to be better to sell. There are many ways to give an old theme a unique twist. Remember though that giving 100 scenes the exact unique twist becomes boring. |
jesus christ Paul, could you shut the fuck up? Please?

To make money with PORN if you are an AFFILIATE (not sponsor owner or owner of a MASSIVE SITE):
Honest way: Promote unique FETISH paysites and sell memberships. Build long term Revshare TRUST with the client, get RECURRING 1000 members. SCAM and SPAM WAY of ILLEGAL SUCKERS: SELL CAMS or DATING via e-whoring, via fake profiles in facebook or Craig-List, etc... create FAKE profiles in MATCH and after working and teasing the guy via MSN with FAKE RECORDED CAM LOOPS you get on MTREE with a screen RECORDER, then tell the guy that you only do nudes on MTREE, and he will bite. I personally would never fall in this and I HATE THIS PRACTICE, its only for illegal SPAM FUCKERS with WHITE-LABELS and cam domains. And there are so many other ways... ILLEGAL is easy to fall in. Problem is doing it LEGALLY and working hard. PIRIOD. |

Eva saved them. Until 1997 I was producing videos in the UK I sold direct to consumers via mail order, one of the few people doing it in the UK. Made enough to site back and do nothing now. Retired and no need to work. Now can you figure out why others didn't do what we did. Can you even figure out what I did that made us successful? To the others, sorry for being an arrogant prick, but peterk needs knocking down. Quote:

Research it until you know it better or as well as your target market.
This is often the most difficult for most in online porn. The problem ranges from a complete detachment to the customer and a lack of understand to why they buy. To disrespecting them and the product. Not good if you plan to sell to them. Empathy is the biggest tool in selling. So go learn why they buy, what they buy and why they buy that product. Adjusting a good strategy to a great one is easy if you have this knowledge. It's very hard to get to your destination if you're groping around in the dark. Look at people who are a success and figure out why. Examine their methods, product and learn what set them apart. For some sites it's simply their size and ability to drop millions of cheap uniques on their samples, size and traffic is their key to success. With others it's clearly their product and the way they present it, that turns a surfer to a customer. Educating oneself on why it works save you testing and testing again to get to the right place. Then take what you have learned and improve on it. If you're a sponsor people will only send you traffic if the site converts it, if you're an affiliate you will only make money if your traffic is converted at the very best ratios. Traffic isn't king. Conversions ($$$) are. |
Made enough to site back and do nothing now. Retired and no need to work.
You mean by "do nothing" posting garbage on multiple forums non stop. Even if you were a success you certainly failed at having a life. |
