Jon Bon Jovi fires Richie Sambora
Never say goodbye.... :disgust

Nice pocket change :)

I wonder then if they arent actual members of the band and just Bon Jovi employees.Because if they all own the same percentage of the band. There is no asking for a raise, everything after expenses is split among the members of the band inc.
If you ever saw the Metallica doc when they picked a new bass player. They gave him a advance of 1 million dollars against his 25 percent of band ownership. Man Richie was making a nice payday, one his solo career will never make. |
now here they say he is still in

$2 million a month AND 20% of concert profits for doing a job that can be replaced by an 8 bit computer and he wanted more money?
Guy's a fucking moron and deserves to end up homeless and broke |
Sounds too greedy?

So, 24 million a year and 20% of a band that tours like mad? Guy's crazy. Maybe he should tour with Axel Rose, no one want's to see him either, lol.

That had to be an awesome conversation. "You know how I only make 2 million a month and 20% of all band revenue and royalties for fucking an endless parade 18 year old super models and playing songs on my guitar for 45 minutes a night, a couple times a week?.... Well, here's my problem with that..."

i thought he had been replaced on the last tour anyways already with the guy from RATM
|
$2 mil a month sounds like a lot of money to us, but I am guessing they are all used to making so much more...

Jon Bon Jovi is pretty notorious for being a smart businessman. I'm surprised it took him this long to do it.

Maybe Sambora's ex-wives are milking him and he needs the dough yo. |
Looks like a new song about Tommy and Gina will be on the way soon!

2 million a month just as a salary/wage? It sounds like it should be royalties included... I mean where would those 2 million come from otherwise? Not from concerts because it has different 20% deal..

I'm sure your friend, the Harvard MBA and self made millionaire setting up and tearing down stage sets for minimum wage which was a job his probation officer got him, spent a great deal of time pondering that between piss tests |
i'm guessing, as we all are, except the parts about bon jovi being a dick, that's documented elsewhere,
but i'd wager sambora was wanting more because bon jovie was making more, if they are both either playing guitar or singing for 45 minutes the same songs they both get credit for co-writing, and dude is making $4m/month and i'm making $2m, i'm going to ask for more, doesn't mean a dickhead should fire me from my band. that's pretty shitty. fuck you sambora, now i get your $2m too? huh? not to mention depriving lifelong fans of seeing ritchie jam on guitar. |

i have no problem calling him a dickhead. if i bought tickets to see a show with the original lineup and arrived there to find out the main guitarist was fired for asking for more and isn't playing, fuck yeah, i'd be calling bon jovi a dickhead.
that's a dickhead move to do to fans. |

He owns the stage, making it cheaper and more profitable. He created various ticket packages, again increasing profit. So on and so forth. Very smart guy. Richie may have a great music mind, but Jon was the money. Lots of great musicians out there make jack, I don't think anyone can argue that. |
Bon Jovi's fans will sell out the venue if he's singing to a karaoke machine. :2 cents:

Do you remember when Bon Jovi was cool?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .... Me neither. |
i just checked for their show at staples center in oct, tickets are $250 each, the $500 seats are presold in the ticket scams currently running we never get a shot at those.
that's what an mba gets ya. still not getting the original story line though, it doesn't say how much more he wanted, if it was equal to the singer's or more even, which i doubt. but again, a lot of egos involved, not just sambora's. so let's say he was making $2m, jan was making $4m and sambora asked for $500k more, is that out of line? |

anyway, also, re: bon jovi's business contributions, they came much later right? he wasn't making business decisions for slippery when wet, eh. |
Quote:
The rest of the band should simply thank him for making them millionaires through his business decisions and guidance to this day. :2 cents: |
