This is good politically, a huge win, for the Democrats in 2018 elections & possibly 2020.

Don't worry!! They are cutting social programs for the middle class and poor in order to pay for that even though all those programs amount to a drop in the bucket when it comes to the total budget. It makes it look they they are financially conservative to their voters while putting money into the pockets of the rich

kane 05-04-2017 01:02 PM

I better start saving my money. I have a pre-existing condition and it looks like things might be about to get very expensive for me.

$600 BILLION in tax cuts and Trump just said premiums will go down, deductibles will go down & no mandate to have insurance. We are getting so fucked.

Most of the Trump supporters here are Russian, Eastern European, and a guy with a bunch of fake Redhat nics.

Robbie is the only real human American on GFY that I can think of, that supports Trump. I know there was a thread about this somewhere, I think there's a couple more American Trump people here maybe.

He doesn't work in the adult industry.

His posts are pro Putin, Erdogan & Assad, and anti American conspiracy theories & anti American culture.

Nobody here respects WeHatePorn unless they hate America & respect Putin, Erdogan & Assad.

Really are you dumb? Trumps biggest pledge and promise that got him elected was a complete repeal and replacement of the ACA, he WINS big time by following thru on another campaign promise that got him elected. Nobody that used the shitty ACA voted for him anyway. You need to stop reading huffpost and read a real legitimate news source, and no NO cnn or foxnews either.

Millions that use the ACA voted for him. Trump stood on the stage every night during the election and said the replacement would give people better insurance at a fraction of the price. That is not going to happen if this bill is actually signed into law.

This is a graphic showing the number of people who got free (or very cheap) Medicaid under the ACA. Do you not think a decent number of those people, especially in the red states, voted for Trump. A poll showed that when asked many people think Obamacare and the ACA are two different things.

I think this is all a ploy. They pushed it through the House knowing it won't pass the Senate. When it dies in the Senate Paul Ryan and Trump can say, "We tried to repeal and replace Obamacare, but zero democrats would support us so it is their fault."

ObamaCare was already dead.
Heard on CBS News on the radio that the last insurance companies were all pulling out by 2018 no matter what happened.

Also in the state of Iowa right now....94 of 96 county's have NO insurance provider left for ObamaCare.

People with brains have been saying since 2009 that the math never added up for this.

And I have said since 2009 that what REALLY needs to be done is for the govt. to STOP allowing Big Corporations that run hospitals to price gouge us in the United States on EVERY procedure they do.
Making it impossible to pay out of pocket for routine minor surgeries (appendix and stuff like that).

And then stop Big Pharma from price gouging us in the U.S. and allowing them to charge us 5 to 6 times MORE for prescription drugs than any other country in the world.
The U.S. Govt. even sets up the border patrol to SEARCH you if you come back from Tijuana with your prescription filled there.
It's a total ripoff.

We shouldn't NEED health insurance except for CATASTROPHIC health insurance (heart attack, horrible car accident, or other huge medical issue).

If the government weren't involved at all...we would be better off. Once they got involved and started taking billions of dollars in lobbyists money from Big Pharma, Big Hospital Corporations, and Big Insurance...THAT is when prices began to skyrocket.

People just didn't bother with "health insurance" in my lifetime during the 1960's, 1970's, 1980's up until the late 1990's because you didn't NEED it. You paid for it out of pocket.

ObamaCare was nothing more than the finishing touches on the scam. And this "replace" is more of the same.

They should have simply REPEALED it.

Get the governments endless supply of corrupt money out of the system and you would watch prices fall into line quickly.

They do lose millions of votes in the South if they just repealed.

Do you remember insurance before Obama care? Do you remember the protests? The on air suicides? People going into hospitals & shooting the doctors? The congressional investigations into the health insurance agency? Seems like you forgot that health insurance was a scam fucking people over left and right ending in a lot of death and turmoil.

The Australian system is quiet good and should be looked at.

Most working Australians have private health insurance, that I know anyways. That insurance allows you a private room with a cable tv, choice of doctors, menu for meals and access to faster wait times, more hospitals. etc

For myself and wife cost of that is about $50 a week and really your silly not to have it.

Government supplied medicare is factored in to your taxes, its 1-2% of your earnings depending on income, Same doctors and hospital as above just without all the trimmings. Main thing is if you are poor, you can get the care that you need and its free.

Insurance costs here are skyrocketing as well, don't go thinking that's a USA only thing its world wide, but our costs are still way below yours and that's for many reasons, generic drug options is one, your choice may I add, and that the government negotiates with the large Pharms reducing costs across the board.

You do read that there are Australians that go to the USA for healthcare, that's usually a population based thing, where you have an unusual based aliment that's hardly recognised here, but in the USA because of population, there's and expert somewhere on it. or some new wonder drug that's been approved in the USA but not here yet. The numbers are VERY low, in the hundreds, where as tens of thousands flock to Asia for cheap boob jobs.

The major issue here in Australia is dental is not covered so you can add two scale and cleans to my medical bill @130 a pop

So a base 1% of income gets free care for all, and you top that up with insurance to get the level of care you want.

kane 05-04-2017 11:38 PM

Just curious. Where is the outrage by the right that this bill was voted on and passed before it was even read?

You're a demented person man, I've been here before you, check my date? I don't post much because I work instead of running around to get my free handouts like you. I'll ask Eric or the admins to go ahead and confirm that I indeed am one account, the same person for the last 15 years here. I agree with everything Robbie said here, I'm sure Bladewire will come running calling me a fake nic or some nonsense LOL. The ACA was dead, I'm in CA and we have 3 providers left and Kaiser and Sutter as well as Dignity health won't take 2 of them. So really you get 1 choice, that's it. Plus your doctor might not even take that now. Bladewire I'm sure is one of the 33% of Californian's on Medi-cal and one of 33% of ALL welfare recipients in the US in california.

That is a legitimate complaint and there were serious issues with Obamacare, but I wonder what in this bill makes you think it will fix those problems.

No I don't know I don't know if this bill is shit or not either I never said it was a good thing. Bladewire is a very unbalanced person LOL, I don't know why he gets so upset with the ACA repeal when I'm sure he'll just use medi-cal to get his meds. I just mean the ACA was just about impossible to use here in CA, and this year it was pretty much done. Not even Platinum plans are taken by Sutter Health or Kaiser, you get a kaiser plan (which is VERY expensive) and sucks or you get nothing.

I don't know if this new AHCA thing is crap or not, I haven't read it, I just know the original ACA was crap and needed to go. I don't know if a replacement is even needed? I had insurance from BC/BS for 12 years fine before the ACA came along and then my prices skyrocketed and I couldn't even use it.

As long as Americans vote for people who are in the pockets of billionaires, billionaires will get what they pay for. And the rest will get fucked.

Republicans and Democrats are owned by the same people, the 1%. The problem is the 99% don't see the problem. Obamacare or Trumpcare are like the captain of the Titanic deciding to hit the iceberg on the left or the right. Both are bad.

shiraz9944 05-05-2017 03:40 AM

So the top 1% do get a tax break along with all the rest? Why is that a bad thing, why do they get punished for being smart and successful, going to college, starting a business?

Top 1% pay nearly half of federal income taxes

There CNBC a very non right wing station, the top 1% of earners pay HALF the entire Federal taxes collected. Just because they worked hard and pay half of everything we use that comes from federal funding we should punish them? The just cause they could afford it argument is bullshit, that's socialism and you know it. It makes no incentive to innovate and build something if you get nearly half of it taken away. How about this, the dems introduced a bill that would now make what you spend on ADVERTISING not deductible anymore. So you affiliate and media buyers and program owners. If they have their way you can't deduct your ad spend, even if you barely profit or break even. Talk about bullshit, oh and now CA wants to tax the mileage spaceX and other rockets travel from california as they tax trains and boats etc....... WTF?

Barry-xlovecam 05-05-2017 06:19 AM

1% to 2% of gross, net or pretax income? Sounds like very little to work in the USA.
In 2015, U.S. health care spending increased 5.8 percent to reach $3.2 trillion, or $9,990 per person.
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MEPAINUSA672N

median per person (real) income is about $30K

Do the math

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...e_per_ capita
AU 4420
US 9451
SE 5228
LU 7765

We have issues

Yep people didnt have health insurance , when they got sick they just went home and died. Why do you think life expectancy keeps going up. Better Health Care which happened because of health insurance.
Health Care is a business and drug companies answer to share holders. So no one is going to start magically making health care cheap in the US.
What we have to decide in America once and for all , is healthcare a right or a privilege?
But no politician has the balls to say the truth.

Also another big problem is people with health care policies really having no fucking idea what they cover and they dont. You say under obama my health care went up 5 times but what you didnt know was. Before that, your policy had a max so god forbid you got cancer, you would get pitched once you hit that number or they pitched you because the type of cancer you had wasnt covered in your policy. But most people dont know this they just saw the cost going up not that now they actually have coverage.
Looks like we are going back to that but hey its cheaper.
