Today is the day mother fuckers

Five years ago (or so) I weighed in at 275 lbs. (I am 5'11".) I started cycling and quickly the pounds started coming off. I was on my bike every day, sometimes twice a day. On my 50th birthday I biked fifty miles.

I've been stuck at 230 for the past two years or so. I could get my weight down under 210, but couldn't maintain it.

Three months ago my HOA opened up a gym for us - a nice gym. I promised myself I would every day until I was 200 lbs. I discovered I could watch Netflix while on the treadmill or elipitical. I got me some bluetooth headphones and... I could get a good movie going or tv series, and I wouldn't want to leave the gym. I started going two and three times a day - once in the early morning, once in the afternoon for lunch, and once at night.

Oh, and the stair master. I put on my one of my favorite songs and I can climb 200 flights of stairs in under twenty minutes. Three times a day.

I also changed my diet... I've cut out soda completely, limited pizza intake (lol), ate mostly high protein, and nothing to eat after 5pm.

This morning I weighed in at 200.6 lbs. I am so fucking stoked.

I feel completely different. I have a huge amount of energy. So fucking happy this morning.

I'm proud of you for sticking it out and busting ass, but a lot of trouble, disappointment, and potential pain in your body could have avoided by doing this from the start.

Weight loss happens in the kitchen. The gym and that is meant for other stuff.

This made me laugh. A friend of mines wife recently lost a nice amount of weight. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw her.

InfoGuy 12-06-2019 04:13 PM

Congrats Richard, you can now see your penis again!

Some Guy 12-06-2019 05:05 PM

Dude, that's seriously impressive. Unless somebody has struggled with their weight, they don't fully appreciate what an accomplishment this is. Congratulations, man!

Grapesoda 12-06-2019 06:37 PM

Congrats, you going to 180 now?

SBJ 12-06-2019 06:49 PM

last time I was at 200lbs was 11 years ago and was in the ICU for 25 days. At 6'4" at 200 lbs I could see all my ribs and felt way underweight. I like myself at 240 but I'm around 255 today.

but congrats on your journey. :thumbsup

I applaud you on your diligence to exercise daily and lose a bunch of weight, now only 20 lbs more to go to get into a healthy bmi for your height. What Kittens said certainly applies, focus as much on what you are putting into your body as your exercise routine and you won't have to workout as much to maintain a healthy weight.

GAMEFINEST 12-07-2019 11:47 PM

you got man titties now or what

DownThePoole 12-08-2019 02:35 AM

waooo you made really amazing results ! dont stop follow ur dream! wish u strong and healthy life!

In his defense, there is a lot of misinformation going on out there on weight loss and we've been drilled for decades that to get healthy you must eat large carb heavy meals and run 60 miles a day, lift 600lbs of weights, and all this other shit.

Hell people still think that fat is bad for you, despite no medical studies to back it up, but many medical studies on how fat is actually good for you.

Fact of the matter, if you cut tons of carbs and sugar out of your diet, eat high protein moderate fat diets with lots of leafy green veggies, you will shed weight, from nothing more than that.

But at the same time, calories in, calories out too. high protein/fat diets are easy because they are good for you, but also because they fill you up faster and longer so it's harder to consume more calories than you can.

I'd say the ideal lifestyle change is ketogenic in nature diet with 16:8 intermittent fasting.

Emphasis on the intermittent fasting. I did a test last year and I lost 60lbs over 8 months eating literal garbage. I ate McDonalds primarily and other fast food. My only goal was i did not eat before 12PM and after 8AM and when I did eat, I did not go over 1800 calories.
