Facebook bans breast-feeding photographs
I'm sorry, I just think that's ridiculous! :helpme
Facebook said the pictures violate the company's policy on obscene, pornographic or sexually-explicit material, because of the display of the aureola - the dark skin around the nipple. Reportedly, it had also threatened to terminate accounts of people who do not comply with such policy. "We agree that breast-feeding is natural and beautiful, and we're very glad to know that it is so important to some mothers to share this experience with others on Facebook," said Facebook spokesman Barry Schnitt. The company insists it is not about obscenity, but more about safety. The policies are to ensure the site remains safe, secure and trusted by its users, who also include teenagers. http://digital.asiaone.com/Digital/N...29-111017.html |
that does it, closing down my account
|
Face book is created for college and other students to network and share interests
not for some fat slob to show off her tits under the excuse of it being a "breast feeding" photo, in order to gain "Internet friends" OR for some porn content shooter to look for new potential models they can stalk in to submission by flashing a $100 bill |
That is ridiculous.
But how many mothers have photos taken of them while breast feeding and then want to post them to Facebook? |
Good. Who wants to see the lactating titty of some girl from high school 15 years and 30 pounds later...
The whole breast feeding in your face thing is completely obnoxious. |

facebook is huge and it covers many segments of society, not just the dumb fuck highschoolers :2 cents: |
*sigh* Because we know a woman naturally feeding her child is the most obscene thing ever.
Bring on the bpa laced plastic bottles and the doctored cows milk instead. That's just fine. |
Tell all the breast-feeding facebooker to post them here :)
|
Well... it is a slippery slope.. it's for the kids you know...

You do realize that there's a whole community of hot, crunchy moms who all breast feed and are proud of the all natural lifestyle they are providing their kids... Sometimes I see you post.. and it's like you have stereotype, dickhead, guy blinders on. You dont see life outside of porn, beer, and money. |

Bottom line, Facebook is a private domain, they can do whatever the fuck they want and make up whatever rules they want. |
Quote:
Yes it is a private company and they can do what they want. I rather see full universal censorship instead of ala cart censorship on such sites. |

Breastfeeding is something anyone can legally see in public. Sex is not. |
Quote:
Screw the minors. If someone is worried their kid may see someone having sex then facebook let alone the internet is not for them. To add to the whole damn confusion note that assorted TV channels and such have begun to censor animals having sex as well. Anyone can see that in public as well, but they are already making it dirty by censoring it. |
Seriously, why the fuck would anyone post breast-feeding pics?

However, if it were Sylvia Saint breastfeeding Scarlett Pain, I might complain. :1orglaugh |
jesus christ....why not take picture of you shitting tooo and share it on facebook.

No . its YOU who have Zero grasp of the real world. Facebook is a site for college and other students to network - what part of that dont you fucking understand? how about you wake the fuck up and see things as they are, instead of looking at everything as a service created for you to exploit. Face book is for students - keep you fat lactating tits out of there |

As a breastfeeding mom, I think it's pretty obvious that most of the asshole men that are posting on this thread do not have children. |
Clearly no one in this thread was breastfed as a baby...
|
i tell you, it's not taking that long anymore and children will be required to be blindfolded when they are fed so that they cannot see the breasts they are sucking on.

I think the women post the pics to show family and friends...I know a lot of people that use Facebook as a way to share their photos with others, and not really for chatting :2 cents: But, as many people have pointed out, Facebook is a private company and can do whatever they want, though the whole things seems a bit over the top. It seems as though breast-feeding mothers are always on the crusade to fight for the right to breast feed in public, semi-public areas... |

Website: http://www.facebook.com/ Company Overview: Facebook gives people the power to share and makes the world more open and connected. Millions of people use Facebook everyday to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet. I don't see "students" anywhere in that text do you? Do you have a facebook account? I do, and I have hooked up with relatives I never knew I had, reconnected with the friends I used to hang out with in high school. While in the beginning facebook may have been directed at those in school, like many companies it has evolved into much more than that. You can find "fat people" on there, as well as "closed minded idiots" who have such little self esteem that they insist on playing keyboard warrior with trash talk in an effort to impress people about how cool they are"...mind you, the latter only gives rise to one question "is this person 18 yet because they sure sound like a 14 year old..certainly maturity must have kicked in by now" |

I breast fed my kids and I did NOT want anyone around staring at me or taking fucking pictures..let alone posting them all over the net. Its not obscene.. but it should be a private bonding moment and feeding session for the child....not a "look at me, I'm breastfeeding" moment for the poor kid. |
wow i love to watch breast feedings hahahahha
|
I think it's a great move... you can go to MySpace and show anything you want :Oh crap...
|
When are they going to ban pix of adults eating?

You have to be a total fucking retard to do that and think its normal. One word comes to mind "Bitty" |
that is pathetic. American companies are following on the footsteps of our ridiculous government. How sad!
|
Question - do they allow male nipples to be shown?
|
Quote:
Whats obscene is that someone at facebook thinks a baby sucking a nipple is obsecne, sexually explicit, or anything but "big whoop". |
And yet there are more fucked up things/photos. What the hell, they have to start with something
