Meta Tags - are they worth the bother?
I'm working on the SEO parts of a new site, and every web page offering SEO tips mentions having good metadata. However I read that google doesn't factor it into their ranking algorithms, hate to waste a bunch of time tweaking metadata if its not going to do any good. So whats the verdict with you guys? To meta or not to meta?

				 | Page title and meta description is what you see in SERPs. If you happen to rank well, even on the 1st page for your keywords, it doesn't mean you'll get good traffic, because it may be that nobody will be clicking on your result. Write good and compelling page titles and meta descriptions that arouse user's interest in your site, and you may see 10x more traffic. Does it worth it? Absolutely. Otherwise, why would you create excellent content that nobody wants to visit? |

				 | They are saying meta tags does not matter anymore, but I guess it is still wise to have them. They will not hurt you and you never know how algorithm changes in the future. At the end you can still delete them if there will be a must. |

				 | Meta tags are not in the algorithm, per se, but search click thru rate and time spent on page are and good meta helps with both.
