:mad EU rejects irans invitation to inspect nuclear facilities

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_eu_iran

They kinda have to reject that as it will be hard for usa to invade iran if everyone knows they have no wmd's ahead of time.

Sounds like a publicity move from Iran more than anything. This is not unusual for them.

Good for them...for not allowing themselves to become propaganda tools...for Iran. Of course by refusing they will still become propaganda tools...for Iran.

explain how allowing nuclear inspection is "propoganda" ?

The usa is telling everyone around the world iran is producing a nuke. Iran is saying "bullshit , you are welcome to come look"

in a nutshell usa is saying " iran has a gun in his hand" and iran is saying " look heres my hands , no gun" and europe is saying " we won't look in your hands , we trust usa, there must be a gun in your hand"

This is like a repeat of iraq/saddam and the wmd's that never existed.

You apparently did not read the article...now did you?

As explained in the article their response is that it is the IAEA who is responsible for the inspections. It is the IAEA who has the expertise to inspect and diplomats do not have that expertise.

It was a win...win...propaganda ploy by Iran...end of story.

It's propaganda because it's nothing new. Iran makes offers like this often. They invite in inspectors or some kind of committee. Inspectors get there... Iran doesn't let them do their actual job. They block off access to important areas. They protect information that they're supposed to show. Etc. etc. If Iran was serious about their offer, they would have made the offer to the correct countries and the correct agencies.

Iran gets to walk away saying "hey, we showed the West what they wanted and they still want to take away our defense!" The West walks away looking stupid and has no new information.

Iran and North Korea play the same game.

I'm sure they want to inspect them. But having Iran choose the sites and giving them limited access isn't going to do any good. Have the inspectors pick the sites - secret or otherwise - and then give them unlimited access. Then, afterwards, don't accuse them of being spies - because that's exactly what they are, people to report back to the world what they found.

This reminds me of Iran. Every country that has nuclear power plants agrees to certain rules, one of which is inspection. Even at the height of the cold war the US and Russia allowed inspections.

It's not open to discussion. A nuclear accident will affect millions of people in the area.

They invited nuclear inspectors, who's specific job is inspecting nuclear facilities, they just don't want americans taking part , and for good reason , usa has comitted industrial sabotage ( stuxnet) and make unproven outrageous claims against them.

no country would allow that .. usa certainly does not allow that , nor do any of the big6.

I totally agree in theory, in practise it doesnt work. Lets do the same thing with israel. Lets allow their muslim neighbours to inspect at free will all of israel's nuclear facilities.

From the article.

Iran has sent letters to a number of ambassadors ...

Diplomats from Britain, France, Germany and the United States were not invited. But Hungary, which holds the rotating presidency of the European Union until July, was invited...

Please post where they invited nuclear inspectors.

On October 3, 2001, I.A.P. News reported that according to Israel Radio (in Hebrew) Kol Yisrael an acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger
Israeli interests and "turn the US against us. "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America."

------

"The Israelis control the policy in the congress and the senate."

Senator Fullbright, Chair of Senate Foreign Relations Committee: 10/07/1973 on CBS' "Face the Nation".

----

I am aware how almost impossible it is in this country to carry out a foreign policy [in the Middle East] not approved by the Jews..... terrific control the Jews have over the news media and the barrage the Jews have built up on congressmen .... I am very much concerned over the fact that the Jewish influence here is completely dominating the scene and making it almost impossible to get congress to do anything they don't approve of. The Israeli embassy is practically dictating to the congress through influential Jewish people in the country"

Sec. of State John Foster Dulles quoted on p.99 of Fallen Pillars by Donald Neff

Iran has sent letters to a number of ambassadors to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, inviting them to visit two sites -- the Natanz uranium enrichment plant and the Arak heavy water complex

LOL @ People who refuse to see that Iran isn't a monster.

Remember Iraq? There were weapons inspectors from the UN inside Iraq that had to leave because the US wanted to start the war. They were inspecting and hadn't found anything and still the US insisted on starting the war.

There was no WMDs just like Iran doesn't have nukes. Let's go after the ones who are known to already have them rather than screw people that are doing nothing that isn't peaceful.

To the best of my knowledge the IAEA is allowed to inspect every country that has nuclear facilities other than Korea and Iran (which at this point in time does not have one but is attempting to build one). If I am mistaken then post a link and educate me.

The IAEA doesn't inspect Israel and they even have nuclear bombs. They aren't even a part of the non-proliferation treaty that the rest of the world follows (including the US).

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomac...-time-1.288981

And Iran does allow IAEA inspectors in:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...112306813.html

Don't believe the propaganda theking last time it led your fellow soliders into a war they had no business being in, don't let it happen again they don't deserve to die for nothing.

No one knows if Israel has nuclear bombs or not...other than Israel and possibly the U.S. as they have never tested a nuclear weapon nor have they ever acknowledged having nuclear weapons.

I was unaware that the IAEA does not inspect Israel. I am aware that Iran has allowed the IAEA inspectors in from time to time and I also am aware that the IAEA inspectors are expelled from time to time.

Well blow me down...I just googled and learned that Israel does not have a nuclear power plant...but plans are in the works to build one.

Which would help tp explain why the IAEA has never inspected in Israel.

Do some research theking.

That's true that they don't have a civilian one but they do have nuclear power plants for making weapons grade material:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/10/wo...t/10nukes.html

Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it why the Israelis have weapons grade Nuclear plants but they are supported by you guys while Iran says they just want it for peaceful purposes all the while being sanctioned over and over for it.

Now that I have shown you that Israel does indeed have nuclear plants, care to come up with a different reason as to why the IAEA has never inspected in Israel? Since your last reason was crushed by my 30 seconds of research, that is.

I just googled and I did not find where Israel has ever denied entry for IAEA inspectors...and did not find where the IAEA ever requested to inspect Israel and if entry has not been requested or denied then there of course is not a need for sanctions.

In one of the articles you posted Israel has indicated that if they build a nuclear plant they will cooperate with the IAEA. I am really surprised that they do not have a nuclear plant.

Are you even looking at what I'm posting? I guess not, ignorance is bliss.

I showed you a source that shows clearly that Israel DOES have a nuclear plant.

Israel’s nuclear reactor at Dimona was built with French help in the 1950s and was said to be used for weapons production. When a former worker there, Mordechai Vanunu, leaked the story to the Sunday Times of London in 1986, he was hunted down and arrested, spending 18 years in jail. Israel has another, smaller, research reactor at Nahal Soreq, near Tel Aviv.
And then here is one that shows that the IAEA hasn't even discussed Israel having nuclear technology until this year. Haven't even DISCUSSED it means that they haven't sent anyone in to inspect.

A copy of the restricted provisional agenda of the IAEA's June 7 board meeting lists Israeli nuclear capabilities as the eighth item - the first time that that the agency's decision-making body is being asked to deal with the issue in its 52 years of existence.
Was built in the 1950s and was never subject to inspections. I even included a picture in case that's what you need to see to prove to yourself that there is indeed a nuclear plant in Israel.

I am aware of all that you have posted...and I when I say nuclear plant I am speaking of a nuclear powered electrical plant.

I am not familiar with the ins an outs of what requirements have to be met for the IAEA to request an inspection...but since Israel has announced its plans to build a nuclear powered electrical plant inspections by the IAEA are now being discussed and Israel is providing indications that they will cooperate with the IAEA.

It was not until Iran announced its intentions to build a nuclear powered electrical plant that the IAEA requested to inspect Iran's facilities.

So you are saying that the IAEA should not be allowed to inspect nuclear plants if they are used for making bombs?

Then what's the point of the IAEA? LOL

It was when Iran said they wanted to build a nuclear plant that the IAEA said they wanted to inspect them. Not a power plant, just a nuclear plant, as they are the nuclear watchdogs.

Israel is NOT cooperating with the IAEA as they have never inspected their nuclear plant that is used to make weapons, the real reason the IAEA is there.

Is not letting anyone in to see your nuclear plant in 50 years an indication that you are going to cooperate?

I guess you're proud of Israel for lying to the US when they promised your former president that they would not be the first one to have nuclear weapons in the area. Sad to see you're such a traitor, theking, I thought you were patriotic.

the only reason the US has such a hard-on for Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and the like is the fact that they are the only countries that refuse to bend over and take every imperialistic whim of the states in the ass.

Yes because in the US your 50/50 split is such a solid representation of the people.

you implied that nuclear plants designed to make nukes don't need to be inspected, only ones that are used for electricity.

We know israel has nuclear plants, this is a fact. We also have good reason to believe they have nuclear weapons, much more reason than to believe iran does. No nuclear inspectors have ever been allowed to inspect israel nuclear facilities that are known to exist or to inspect suspected nuclear sites. ever...

Do you believe honestly israel should be the only country in the world to not have its weapons inspected ? while at the same time iran should be shunned for allowing iaea to view its facilities but not including americans ?

the real issue here is iran doesn't trust usa and it's puppets and for good reason , they have spied on them in the past , bribed scientists and comitted industrial espionage.

In my opinion...I did not imply that at all. But non the less...I now have an understanding of why the IAEA has never inspected Israel or made a request to do so. The IAEA only inspects countries that are a member of the NPT (Non Proliferation Treaty) which Israel is not a signator to. It has been Israel's position that they will not become a signator to the NPT until peace reigns in the Middle East.

Iran and North Korea are both signators and that is why they are required to allow the IAEA to inspect...which both do sporadically.

India and Pakistan both are not signatories of the NPT and allow the IAEA to inspect their nuclear facilities. And they both have nuclear weapons.

That there is called made up since you have no source for that and just pulled it out of thin air.

Also keep in mind that every other country in the Middle East has signed it.
