He was busted because it was dogs... if he would have been caught at a chicken fight, he would have gotten a fine. If he was on an Indian Reservation, he wouldn't have gotten shit or anything said to him at all.

Dogs for some reason are 'better' animals to some people.

People need to let it go and move on. He went to jail, lost his money, now he is back trying to make things right. Do i agree with what he did? Fuck no, I love animals. I can't begin to fathom what runs through a persons mind when they are that age and making that kind of money. I personally think he is one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL. he will always have his haters and a lot of people will never forgive him. To still be talking about it though is asinine.

A dog is domesticated because someone took the dog in... and some people keep Chickens, Cows, etc for pets - and they will come right up to humans.

Dogs are food... a house pet may not be used normally as food, but if you were starving to death, you would eat that dog before you ate a human - and you would without question eat a human if you were starving - you can't stop from it.

And I can travel all over this world and try dog, cat, and many various other animals that are almost impossible to get in the States - so they aren't food to you - but they are food.

Vick paid his debt, served his time, and is not only rebuilding the career he always hoped for but he's making strides to atone for his stupidity. As long as he keeps on that path and keeps his inner scumbag in check I don't see myself sitting there like an angry juvenile wishing he'd get sacked to the intensive care unit on every new snap he takes. Buehrle comes off as pretty childish in that article IMO.

Yes, he did serve his time and according to our society, he is free to move on with his life as he should. The problem I have is that what he did really speaks to what kind of person he is. Making one mistake at one point in time is totally different from building an entire network to torture and kill dogs over years and years. Wasn't there some sort of electro-shock rack he built?

I know he says he loves dogs, but that sounds like the abusive guy who says he loves his wife, but beats her all the time and eventually kills her. There is some sort of mental disturbance in people who frame "love" like that. But, with all that being said, if he truly regrets what he did and continues to stay on the right path, then he has every right to continue with his career and make money and prosper.

I don't think he should have been allowed back in the NFL, for the image sake of the NFL alone.

I consider a dog, cat or any animal on this planet, no different than a bug or any other creature on this planet. It's your own personal emotional attachment to dogs that makes this an issue for you. You'll squash a fly, but not just capture it and take it outside - it's no different - other than your emotional attachment to dogs.

I'm not saying what he did was right, abuse to that level is never right.. but judging him based on personal choices, is probably the biggest human problem in the world. Clearly not everyone is against it, but because you are, nobody else should have that choice... that's why you don't like humans, they don't make the same choices you do, but a dog obeys you - thus follows the choices you set. Kinda hard to hate that....

That's a rather large jump between beating, fighting or killing dogs (or flies) - to mass murder of humans. You kill a dog, it's entire family/community doesn't breakdown....

I'm sorry, I just don't see the huge jump here. Sure, he didn't torture animals like Vick did... I get that there are degrees. But he does kill animals purely for his own pleasure. And by the way, he does it with bow and arrows. So he's outraged that someone would shoot a dog with an arrow, but he finds killing other animals with an arrow totally cool. In fact it's fun. I just don't see how you can both murder animals purely for your own enjoyment and also be so taken aback by what Michael Vick did that you hope he gets injured.

You can be outraged by what Michael Vick has done in his past, and you can go out kill bears to make necklaces out of them... but you can't do both.

The problem I have is that what he did really speaks to what kind of person he is. Making one mistake at one point in time is totally different from building an entire network to torture and kill dogs over years and years. Wasn't there some sort of electro-shock rack he built? I know he says he loves dogs, but that sounds like the abusive guy who says he loves his wife, but beats her all the time and eventually kills her. There is some sort of mental disturbance in people who frame "love" like that. Have you ever watched videos of the dogs that lose? The ones that get electrocuted or drowned? I'm willing to bet you haven't. He built a network of torture that served no purpose other than to make money from the suffering and abuse of animals. Not even close to the same thing as someone killing chickens for food. He's not sorry for what he did...he's sorry because he got caught. Look, as those of you say, he did his time, blah blah blah...doesn't mean we have to forget he's a scumbag. If Charles Manson were released tomorrow would that be ok? should he be able to get meaningful employment and have everyone just forget about what he did? Remember, he didn't really kill anyone...he had others do it for him.... I'm not saying he didn't do his time, I just feel it wasn't enough time. Is the only defense of this guy that he's talented?
