The control of a warning page seems improbable to me.
What about 404 traffic? Anyone know or read anything on this?

I think it's technically doable. But I see no valid reason to control a warning page for all .XXX domains other than if you wanted to control some traffic and eyeballs. I mean, doesn't the .XXX domain itself act as a warning page?

![]() I'm not buying any, if they amaze everyone and happen to have some great uses or features when they come out I'll get a new name and brand that.

However by having them in the first place it makes it 1000x easier for legislation to be passed to force us to use them, opposed to how things are now where they have no "ghetto" to confine us to. I listened in the video from the seminar, how it was discussed that ICM will defend the industry if the govt tries to legislate all porn to use .xxx . Come on guys, i hope none of you really believe that. As soon as .xxx goes live ICM is going to be contacting law makers to try to get them to pass it. So they might through a couple token dollars to make it look like they are trying to stop it, they stand to make hundreds of millions if it becomes required by law. Make no mistake that is lawley's end game. If it is not mandated he might only make 10-20 million a year. If it is mandated he will be making 100's of millions a year. It's not like he is in this for any thing other than the money and this guy can't be trusted more than you can pick him up and throw his fat ass. Why wouldn't he try to make it mandated and give a shit if .xxx is blocked then by colleges or some countries. If it is your only choice legally to us .xxx then you have to accept his bullshit rules. He might even work out deals with legislators and restrict sites from having hardcore porn or whatever. There sky is the limit with this fool. All of you people who think " what is the big deal just don't buy it" If you plan on being around in this industry for more than a couple years you shouldn't be so naive. A lot can happen in the near future, especially if politics swing back to the right in the next couple years. You NEVER know what can happen till you know who is in office and what their agenda is. Never say Never. Yes, the govt didn't want .xxx but now that it's going to be a reality, don't think they are stupid and wont quickly think how this can end up being an opportunity for them. It wont be long before you hear the rumbles of "well there is a .xxx domain, if we can't make porn illegal and throw them in jail why can't we move them all over to .xxx and at least block it and clean up the net". BANK ON IT. Will it happen, I give it a 50/50 in the next 10 years, but you can be SURE you will hear about it soon and they will try like hell to do it. At this point, I think the best thing to do is to dilute the market. Try like hell to get more tld's past. If we can get .sex .ass .adult .cams .gay .porn etc not only will it cause .xxx to not have a MONOPOLY and they will have to lower their prices to compete and let up or remove the bullshit rules but it may make it harder or less attractive for us to all be forced over to .xxx by law. I know ICM WILL fight that battle with every penny they have to try to make sure they are the only porn tld. If ICANN wont allow other porn tlds like .sex after approving .xxx then they should be dragged out back and shot. It was obviously VERY shady for .xxx to be approved when NO ONE wanted it, if we want a tld like .sex and then they don't approve it then they really should be beat as it will be so fucking obvious they are on Lawley's payroll. However, I wouldn't be surprised though.

I have thought from the beginning a few years ago that the only reason to create this TLD is to make it mandatory for adult content. Ask yourself why this was pushed so hard and why it was passed over the objection of the entire industry. There's only one reason and that is big money. You don't get the big bucks unless you have greased the skids behind closed doors to make .xxx mandatory for adult. This was all decided before they went public.

I know one of his biggest justifications by ICM to try to get .xxx put through was to "protect the kids" (everytime I hear that I want to take a baseball bat to the person who believes it). How do you protect the kids with .xxx when nothing changes on .com?? You don't, the argument is dead right there. Only way to "protect the kids" is to move porn off of .com and block .xxx. Well the other way is for parents to actually do their damn jobs and raise their kids properly, but we know that will never happen.
