I agree, blatant racism doesn't really bother me so much these days, generally it's a very small % of people and they are very easy to dismiss. I agree with this too, to a point. It drives me crazy when people get angry and throw around homosexual slurs, it even bothers me when people go the other way and insult themselves by insinuating that they are homosexual when they are not.

Actually, since the original (flawed) assertion was that 50% of African American males have herpes, we're really only talking about the chances that given a random sampling of black men, the probability that a woman will have sex with one that has herpes given enough independent encounters. To go back to the coin toss analogy, tossing one coin five times yields the same probability as tossing five coins at once.
