USA might face a potentially violent revolution

Robert David Steele, political analyst and former intelligence officer, told RT the US right now is much more desperate than people realize.

http://rt.com/news/usa-protests-revolution-reform-063/

Listen to the ex intel guy talking on the video above

“We have 22 per cent unemployment and on our way to 30 per cent. We are 16 per cent below the poverty line and on our way to 30 per cent. There is no question in my mind that this is going to be a very dark winter in the United States,” he stated. “Unless the government restores its own integrity and starts paying attention to the public interest rather than to the special interests, I believe that we will have a form of revolution, initially non-violent, but with the potential to become violent,” he added.

Fury over corporate power in the US is spreading from New York across the country. Thousands have joined the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement, angered by the economic slump that may lead to a revolution in the country.

Despite the fact that “Occupy Wall Street” protesters have raised everything from lack of jobs to global warming, there is a common cause uniting the activists, Steele believes.

“These are not stupid people. They are very smart and they understand that at root this is about corruption in government and corruption on Wall Street,” he explained. “And until you have electoral reform, you cannot restore the integrity of US government. So there is a common cause, but it is voiced in many different ways,” he maintained.

The protest started out peacefully, but now it is the third week and more than 700 people have been arrested on Brooklyn Bridge. And according to Steele, the NYC police have on the one hand been very well-managed and on the other hand have gotten out of control at lower levels.

“My personal hope is that the general non-violent strike will be used to force the issue of electoral reform,” he concluded.

When did that happen? We were at ten percent. That's been steady now for what, four years? Is it going to triple? Really?

Always pure comedy when people are quoting Russia Today as a news source. Unemployment is 22% and on its way to 30%. Funny.. learning so much here on GFY.

RT is what Pravda was to the USSR

Estimates of open revolution as a possibility are highly exaggerated.

The actual unemployment rate is much higher than the published unemployment rate. It's common knowledge and the fact that two people are here questioning it, obviously without looking up a fucking thing, is ridiculous at this point. There is no excuse to be this fucking stupid. None.

When WWIII is in full flow, Martial Law will be required in the USA, that is why the people of the USA are being led in this direction (e.g. OWS). Agent Provocateurs will get the OWS crowd going and things will turn nasty, but this is all by design to bring in Martial Law for WWIII

It's not a manipulated figure you dumb fuck. It's the U6 unemployment rate from the Bureau of Labor Statistics which still leaves out some of the unemployed.

I watch most of the news chanels and out of most of them RT seems to cover a lot of storys from around the world which are not being broadcast on the likes of the BBC and CNN.

Either one of two things will happen with this occupy situation, It will either fade and disapear or turn very nasty.

If he used the Alternate numbers than that's not very fair... those include people looking to upgrade a job, people with more skills than the job is (ie those with jobs) and of course long term unemployment people - which it assumes all want/need a job rather than just left the job force, like a mother might do.

Basically it's the number opposite of full time employed people.

Agreed, RT comes out with some damn good news that you can't find anywhere in mainstream news.

The ones who are in denial of the U6 numbers and the reality of whats going on in US and around the world will be the first to succumb when it gets nasty here...so no worries, let them think all is fine...the sooner we get rid of them the better.

I've been checking this, http://shtfschool.com/ - some friends from Macedonia confirm the voracity.

Prove that unemployment is 22% and heading towards 30%.

The fact that you don't instantly understand thats impossibe and unrealistic tells how little you understand about economics.

Links?

Credible proof?

22% unemployment heading towards 30%?

So, maybe instead of being a retarded dickhead, you could provide some credible proof of anything that guy on a known anti american/anti west propaganda news station said is even close to accurate?

You are talking about a difference of .5%-1%... not 10X greater.

Check local, county employment offices, county and state provide much better stats.
Las Vegas was above 20% last year. God knows what it is now. In Charleston, SC where I lived til recently, it was above 22%. These numbers are semi-hidden.

On top of the Las Vegas Valley's new 15 percent high, statewide unemployment was 14.4 percent in September. Nearly 200,000 Nevadans lacked jobs in the month and were looking for work. Add in discouraged workers who've dropped out of the labor force and underemployed part-timers who want full-time jobs, and unemployment in the Silver State easily exceeds 20 percent, experts say.
i was curious so looked up quick search...

Yeah, i care enough to debunk a retarded claim so much that I'm going to check 100s of local unemployment offices.

Currently 1 job for every 4 people looking.

When you take old fuckers out of the stats that went back to school to learn a new trade or add to their portfolio of skills the unemployment rate for those graduating college is 24%. We are in bad fucking shape and it's amazing that so many don't even realize how bad it's gotten.

A state with a runaway construction industry and housing boom coupled with the fact that its primarily a tourist destination which suffered greatly when the housing market/economy collapsed, its a unique case. Not the norm.

that said.. the article says 15%

Attempting to say the nation is at 22% and headed towards 30% is retarded.

I'll take the side of Black Jesus on this one:

i watch them sometimes for entertainment, they are always extremely pro Putin, very amusing. probably they are already taking care of the times when he will be president again

and they always find the most improbable experts, those guys that never get invited to any other new channels.

but here and there they really cover things that are swept under the rug by "our" mainstream media

The right likes to ignore the part time workers as if you can raise a family on minimum wage for 20 to 35 hours per week with no benefits. They like to ignore those that have given up because obviously they just want all of their tax dollars to live a luxurious life of poverty.

There is an UNDER employment rate: A15 = 16.5% Nationally Sept 2011

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t15.htm

Some cities (and their youth rates and inner-city rates) could push 22%.
You can easily twist the statistics but there is a jobs problem in the USA and no one should dispute that.

Given that most people are assuming the figure represents something different to what it does in reality, and we know that they won't bother to look it up even though they could if they wanted to, if you don't want to refer to it as being manipulative, here are some synonyms for you to choose from

Wily, Cunning, Canny, Sly, Crafty, Guileful or Contriving

Some cities (and their youth rates and inner-city rates) could push 22%.
You can easily twist the statistics but there is a jobs problem in the USA and no one should dispute that.

Hey look... same site. Different data. Job growth, unemployment going down. Not sure how we are at 22% and heading towards 30%. Sounds like something only a deranged lunatic could believe but.. er... uhm... yeah.... <quietly backs out of thread full of deranged lunatics>

Neither does pulling numbers out of thin air and pretending their fact. ;)

think about that

It's the Banker's who are on crack! We had WWI, WWII, but since most people alive didn't live through either of them it can be hard for us to imagine that these things really can happen

funny to see how everyone talks about % ... what i have learned way back in school is ...
"DONT TRUST STATISTICS - 'CEPT YOU FAKED THEM YOURSELF!"

that being sad ... i think too many US folks are fatassed-halfeducated whimps who dont care a fuck about their and their kids future and hence will stay home while OTHERS fight for them ... a shame ...

listen closely to the lyrics ...

More financial losses for the backbone of america... Oh well...

Oh hell no... Capitalism is the greatest thing around and benefits everyone.

The one must be a very naive person to believe there is some honest, open-minded and independent news agency. Course RT is pro-Putin (he has a not so big support here BTW), Euro News is pro-EU, Al Jazeera is pro-Arabic, FOX is pro-republican etc. And every one has it's point of view for everything.

Wise people always watch/read all the news sources they can reach (fortunately all major ones are available in my country). This is the only way to compare these POV's and make your own decision.

Despite the fact that RT has a lot Putin's PR (like those other Russian TV channels that are controlled by government), however its still a good source of alternative information which will never been shown at CNN, BBC, FOX etc.

I vaguely recall that when ones unemployment ends you are no longer counted as part of the unemployed statistic. This could account for a much higher rate.

There is the real world, and then there is GFY. On GFY we're always on the verge of some catastrophe, revolution, world war, or apocalypse.

I swear some of the threads here would be the same if you stuck a couple of meth heads in a room together with a pound of drugs and came back 72 hours later. They'd be talking about how you have to watch out for the light bulbs because in the 1800's the Illuminati took over the light bulb industry and they're now putting listening devices into them. Oh, and of course some guy would have proof about it because he knows of a youtube video, or russian news source that verifies it.
