I have a friend, who I helped file uncontested divorce papers today. Last time he saw his wife was 28 years ago. Wow, 28 years of no nagging.

He only filed, as I helped him buy a couple of houses last year and he wants to make sure she doesn't suddenly reappear.

28 years of no nagging. Damn I wish I had been so lucky.

Next time around.
A maid to clean the house.
A cook for food
A hooker for sex

My step father made the mistake of marrying the daughter of a powerful attorney. He came to court with one lawyer to her five. She'll be getting paid until the day he dies. At one point he had $600/mo to live on. Became bearable once the kids turned 18.

After my divorce I got no nagging, kept my wine collection at the ex's house and a key to access whenever. Other than no sex, better than marriage, zero nagging.
She even was my witness on my second child support hearing. Judge almost fell out of his chair. He had to rule that I had been hauled into court twice, proved I had overpaid twice.
Look on the DA's face when my lawyer announced her as my witness, on my behalf was the ultimate "Mastercard Priceless" moment ever.
Best was we went to a Murder Mystery Dinner and as they announced birthdays and anniversaries, announced us celebrating our 17 years of happy divorce.

I told my wife I wouldn't consider getting married without one. If she wanted to get married so bad, she understands that if things don't work out, she doesn't automatically get half for just being a "wife."
