Good question. With more and more sites requiring periodical password changes and having non-uniform number/symbol/capital/#char requirements, it seems to have become an issue for me. I just use whatever is built into my browsers (Chrome/FF) and just use my memory after I clear the history. I'd like to think that there's a better method out there somewhere! lol

The ideal solution I think would be for chrome to be synched with a gdocs password spreadsheet. As it stands, when you enter a new password, a 'Do you want Google Chrome to save this password" bar pops up. An additional bar or checkbox asking "Would you like to add this to your GDOCs password spreadsheet' would be perfect.

You could create a code, for example part of your password could always be the same, like WORD23, then add the first and last letters of the website, so for GFY it would be gWORD23y

For the passwords you have to change you would need another way of keeping track of them, though make sure you never write the full passwords down, always leave some *'s in them if possible, just enough to remind you what it is, so let's say your password was washington72, on a spreadsheet or email you'd write was*72, if that's enough to remind you (assuming you use washington in a lot of your passwords so it would come to mind quickly)

Chrome --> GDocs is just example. The point is to create a simple path from browser to spreadsheet b/c it's a pain in the ass to copy and paste the link into one column, add your user name to another, and then add your password to another. People who think Google is out to get them could use the Firefox --> Windows Live version.

Last Pass is the best for me. Keeps track of all of them even when not using my original computer - you sign in from a different system and they are all there

Don't trust all your passwords to sites like lastpass these big companies get hacked all the time just like Riot Games recently and they didn't salt their hashes. Meaning the hackers don't even have to break a few million passwords just compare the hashs of common passwords to the ones in the list and now you have a few million logins in 40 seconds.

The only choices for a webmaster securing his passwords IMO are Keepass or Gnome-Keychain/Linux Keychain/Mac stored LOCALLY.

Btw a tip when creating passwords - bookmark this link and it will generate two 10 character passwords every time you reload it - or edit the settings to your needs and bookmark afterwards.
