Whats a good starter CMS thats easy to use?

in fact it's just a display of how customizable it is. See the differences between http://flamine.com/xcenario and http://flamine.com/nStyle/ . The second one is closer to a regular adult paysite. The one I'm working on right now is STRICTLY for adult sites.

Another possibility is the theme at http://mysexbabe.com/ but I think the newer ones are way better, more imaginative and will provide better conversions than the old style 1000000 times seen episode styles

I think it depends on the situation. I think there are some projects it's great for and will work well for long term, especially if the user is a developer, Web savvy or technical themselves. Similarly, I think if someone doesn't mind hiring a developer like you to work on their sites from time to time on an ongoing basis it's not a bad option long term.

but WordPress is by far the most non-tech friendly CMS I have ever known. I mean bar none, so not sure why you say this. At least 50% of their users are people that barely know how to turn on a computer. And that is a very conservative stat, I wouldn't be surprise if it's 90%.

On a side note, of all the custom WP installs we have made in the last 4-5 years (well above 300, with around 60/70 being CMS) up to date I remember only 3 persons requesting for support and/or mods, and 2 of them because they wanted a drastic change. I don't know how it is for other people, of course, but IMHO there's a reason why many developers hate WP: because once you install it, the client doesn't need the developer anymore

I'm talking about needs, not ease of use or installation. The wants and needs of a businesses changes as it grows. No solution (WordPress or Elevated X or otherwise) is going to magically morph into what someone wants and needs as their business matures. The demands of a business and business models are continually changing over time. Major changes (the kind that will occur long term) will require ongoing development and support. I believe that claiming otherwise for WordPress or any CMS solution including my own equates to misinforming people and is irresponsible.

Occasionally someone will approach me and describe their project and I'll suggest they use WordPress. There are also times when I suggest that someone develop a custom CMS if I feel it's a better fit for their needs and wants than my own product. No solution is a perfect fit for everyone, short or long term. That's just my opinion though and not something I intend to debate.

Are your websites going to be updated? If so I suggest using Elivated X, updates are very easy, and their staff helps me change source files etc. when I decide to raise the quality of my video's.

Elivated X = Very nice product with tons of features all designed for adult sites.

If there's anything I've needed to do over the past 5 or so years joomla has never failed to surprise me in how quick, easy and cheap it was to find a solution for whatever site I wanted to develop with the thousands of mods and addons out there.

90% of my sites are Joomla. Its wayyyyy more powerful then wordpress and all the basic stuff is point and click. Although it is helpful to understand php, mysql and html/css if you really want to deck your installs out or if you want something there isn't currently a pre made module or plugin for.

I would show you my pay sites with it but they are not up anymore but really you can make it look however you want. There is not set style for joomla (although there are popular templates floating around) you can literally make it look completely different then another joomla site if you know html and css and have your own graphics and if you don't... you can find someone to make a custom template for you pretty easily for not too much money.

Check it out but realize the general community is not very friendly to adult sites, at least in my experience... fyi

So AEC is one of the modules that has support for ccbill at least and I am very familiar with it and I know this to be true for this extension specifically. Basically if there is an extension for what you are looking for then you won't have to code anything. You just install it with a click and then the menus are added into your back end to set it up.

What about cost? Elevated X looks great but I don't have the $3000+ a year to use the features I would like to use. Even at $150 monthly it kicks new sites in the nuts to fork over that kind of money. I would entertain later on perhaps but if I am starting a new site with the server cost+ a monthly CMS cost it reaches too deep into my operating costs.

The monthly fee for the CMS and optional features factors in the software plus the cost of providing our customers with free support. Part of the monthly fee also covers ongoing development so we can update the CMS as often as we do to keep our customers' sites secure and add new features and improvements constantly.

Paying for this may not make sense for a brand new site on a shoestring budget but many businesses find that it's well worth it over the long term.

Not looking to anger anyone, but if you cannot afford to spend $150 a month on a CMS, you are no where near ready to open a pay site. I would suggest you concentrate all of your efforts on building a traffic base and build a bankroll selling the traffic to affiliate programs or brokers.

If you are looking at cost saving initially, get a cms such as pornCMS, and then once you grow to a point where you need every bell and whistle (and can pay for it), then go for elevatedX.
