please, how can you say you don't believe in the paranormal and then reel off a bunch of events that can only be explained by one of two things 1) paranormal or 2)somebody fucking around with you

the third possibility is that you and your family have vivid imaginations and want to believe your home is haunted so you're embellishing things

the paranormal and the existence of God - there's zero evidence for any of it, i can't say it doesn't exist but until I myself see evidence of it i will be suspicious of anybody else who claims it exists until they provide conclusive evidence.

Its crazy the amount of people will claim things like this are going on in their home, but few of them try to prove it or find out whats really going on.

The possibilities in situations like this:
1. Something supernatural
2. Somebody playing a joke or been deceiving
3. Intruder in your home
4. You or somebody in your home are imagining/exaggerating/been silly/been crazy
5. Your lying

If somebody is making claims like this and yet is not actively trying to find out what is going on (or moving home,) they are most likely lying. What reason could there be for for not trying to finding out whats going on?

Take silentknight for example, he openly admits to not believing in "paranormal, spooks, ghosts, poltergeists...whatnot", so you must think somebody is moving those things? What have you done to discover whats going on?

If it were me I would have a camera in every room and as soon as something strange happened review the footage.

Funny how people have such strong opinion either believe or not believe.
I have witnessed a few crazy shit in my life, a couple of times being very freaky and scary.
Wether you believe in God or not, there is a lot of "evidence/testimonies/experiences" that points to re-incarnation, so to think one's soul could get lost after death does not sound far fetched to me.
Then again, one's man treasure is another's man garbage.
Lots of crazy shit happens on this planet, most can be explained but I believe there are some things that we can't explain or comprehend. Just my opinion.

I posted something in Youtube here. Hmmm... lemme find it. It's about that dog looking at something in the living room, and a closet door slamming inexplicably.

This is very typical of believers who don't want to admit they are believers because they are afraid people will make fun of them.
1000's of similar posts on the net start exactly as his.

I don't believe in ghosts BUT...

i grew up in a house that was over 100 years old and some weird shit happened there too but we were also young and wanted to believe that stuff was happening, so who knows.

Oh that is quite easy to explain. Because they want to believe. They already made up their mind that it's something paranormal. And that's it. They don't want to hear any other explanations. Also very typical behaviour for these kind of weak minded unstable people.

I don't believe in ghosts, but... that doesn't mean I'm not scared of them.

What I don't get is, out of all the things you could do if you were a ghost, why you'd choose to spend you time re-arranging furniture. I mean every ghost does this. Why?

I am not saying it is paranormal, however if it were an earthquake, that actually opened draws (they're not on rollers) that are full and then did not knock anything off the top of them, then it is one hell of a selective earthquake.

There was an earthquake in Melbourne (Aus), not so long ago and the amount of crap that flew off shelves was incredible.

My wife's Grandfather used to shower in that shit. He of course had been deceased for a few years at this point. A couple of hours later I hear walking in the hallway again. I step out into the hallway, and nobody is there. I continue down the hallway and look through the open door that leads downstairs. I see my wife's Grandfather standing at the bottom of the stairs. I chalk it up to being exhausted and go to bed. I get up the next morning, and go to the kitchen to find both my mother in law, and sister in law sitting at the table. I grab a cup of coffee and sit down. As we are talking, my sister in law brings up her Grandfather. My mother in law tears up and tells my sister in law not to worry. She said "Grandpa is fine. He came to see me last night". To this day, I have never said a word about it to my wife, her mother, or sister.
That's rather freaky. My sister had a similiar experience with her dead grandfather visiting her at the end of the bed at night. She was very young at the time and we chalked it up to a child's overactive imagination.

We have four cats, actually. And none of them have reacted to anything that's gone on - other than they occasionally stare at a wall as if they see something - but all cats seem to do that in every house.

No, we're not in an earthquake zone. And even if it'd been a tremor strong enough to shift the foundation and the hamper drawers like that...there'd be a lot more damage elsewhere throughout the house.

First of all - I have no desire to see or believe this "crap". Secondly, I'm a staunch atheist. And as my original post stated - I don't believe in the paranormal. I simply don't have a reasonable explanation for all the shit going on. Furthermore, I don't give two shits what YOU believe or don't believe. I'm simply stating the facts of what's gone on.

What I'm saying here is - I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. We've ruled it out as someone playing a joke, since things have happened to each member of the family while they were alone in the house at one time or another. Intruder - no. The old wooden floorboards creak too much and an intruder's presence would be very obvious. No, it's not our imaginations - nor are we exaggerating. And last I checked...I'm still relatively sane.

I simply don't have an explanation for this. That's all there is to it.

But for the past decade our house has been plagued with more unexplained occurrences than I can count.

And not your typical ghostly footsteps, knocks, sounds, etc.

But very different stuff.

All the furniture and items in an entire room re-arranged one time. Hamper drawers pulled out in an unusual pattern. Money that's appeared (twice). A wristwatch that vanished literally from under our noses and then re-appeared a day later on a different floor in a different room. And old coin from the late 1800s (from another country) appeared in the basement.

Female and male voices clearly heard by several family members on separate occasions in various rooms. The wife and daughter have both heard distinct footsteps on the second floor a few times - although I haven't heard this myself.

TVs that plugged themselves in and turned on. A brass lamp that did the same several times (I finally got rid of the lamp after growing tired and annoyed having to turn it off).

A camera mounted securely on a tripod in the studio that moved on its own during a photoshoot (and yet returned to the exact position WITHIN A PIXEL) to the previous frame.

My wife had a stack of newspapers fly up in the air directly in front of her - scared her to the point she left the house and waited on the back porch for me to get home from work before going back in the house.

We had a strange white light appear under a sofa in the studio one night that moved from one end to the other. Unusual perfume-like smells sometimes come and go.

The house is 128 yrs. old and is one of the originals on the street. It's about a hundred yards from the city's original hospital (now converted into a seniors condo residence).

Just curious if anyone else has experienced anything first-hand like this. It's driving me up the wall - as I said I don't believe in the supernatural or paranormal at all. But I'm growing more and more at a loss to explain much of this.
your not hunted, you are married.

SilentKnight, do you own this house or rent it? Also, how long have ya'll lived there? Just curious, if there are actually ghosts there do you and/or your family members ever hear their name being called out by someone that is not there? I have a reason for asking these questions and will explain after you answer.

I saw some phantoms appear on my bed but I dunno if I was awake or not. I was sleeping and then opened my eyes to see them, then I was awake for sure and sometimes scared, sometimes not. Once it was a girl sitting or standind on my bed, then a vase with flowers and some other objects. Dunno what the hell it was, hope it won't happen again.

1) You're lying
2) Someone in your house is lying (it's usually teenage girls that fuck about and pretend it is ghosts*)

It really is that simple.

There is no such thing as ghosts.

That's the thing with these nutters. He won't link to any evidence simply because there is no evidence. Yet in the next topic he will make the same claims of there being tons of evidence. It's very sad behaviour. But these kind of people don't care. Once again it's because they want to believe.

Oh we all know that, just wondered what excuse he'd come up with!

Nevermind, i know the answer already.
Sorry buddy, but once you have had enough enough experiences with them, it becomes very clear spirits do exist.

There is ALOT of evidence - scientific evidence. Our science has just not figured it out, and because of people making judgements based on emotional responses, not enough legitimate research is being done on this.

Imagine if we could prove a soul exists, measure it with science? Imagine how our world view will change..

BTW.. i think someone mentioned this.

If you want the trouble to stop - Get a cat,, the Egyptians used cats to ward of evil spirits - Sounds silly i know, but i lived in a house where lots of strange stuff was going on, and when i got a cat it all of a sudden stopped.

Just post one link, to one bit of published, peer reviewed evidence. Just one.

(I won't hold my breath).

So, basically you are saying you have no evidence whatsoever? Am i correct? Well, that comes as a surprise.

Go see a doctor. That's the only thing that will really help in your case.

Yes, I have. My mom owns a senior care facility. So i stayed there for the night one time. I was on my laptop playing fulltilt poker. Note that once im seated playing poker, nothing gets me up. So i was seated, with the TV turned on. Then i noticed i caught something passed by in the hallway to the left corner of my eye. I denied it and thought i was imagining things. But i wanted to make sure it wasnt just an imagination or just me seeing things. I litteraly stared at the hallway. Surely enough, i saw this dark shadow, smoke, like figure flew across the hallway. So, i got up, and went out to the backyard and stood in the cold rain. I called my sister who lives 25 mins away to drive her ass down the fact that I didn't want to go back in there bymyself (i had to be back inside to watch over the sleeping senior residents). Whatever that thing was turned me into a pussy.

The next day, i google what i saw and experienced and found out those things are called shadow people google.com/search?q=shadow+people . VERY VERY CREEEEEPY. I just got goosebumps looking at those photos again on google.

The paranormal stuff really kicks in on rainy cold days. I'd here crumpling sounds of paper and knocking on wall.

i guess you can say the other way around about people who never seen it. Very arrogant of you to say everything you believe is 100% correct and how the universe works.

Yup, must've been shadow people. Best possible explanation.

You people are sad.

I'm VERY open minded. I'm willing to believe anything that you show me proof for. So, i'm not sure what you are saying here.
You claim crazy stuff. Fine, i will believe you. Show me proof it exists.
Yet you fail and call me arrogant. That's not how things work buddy.

Let's do it your way:

You are a pedo. I say so, so that's the way it is. I don't need to prove it. Anybody who doesn't believe it is just arrogant.
Prove to me you are not a pedo. If you can't then it means you simple are one.
I'm waiting.
