Lets say you business did not suceed

Hi

Okay, lets say that you launched an online business and for whatever reason it did not work out (recession), what would you do?

Lets say you do not have any capital to start a new one either.....

So you cannot sit around..... if your answer is to get a job then what kind of job would you be applying given that you now have business experience?

Thanks

B

you must be a loser with no drive or ambition then. you should be able to start a business with nothing and live off dumpster diving in the meantime. otherwise, you're just a lazy worker bee....at least according to robbie, 12clicks, etc.

If you're willing to put the hours in there are quick ways to make the $'s start rolling in on the Internet

Never give up. Ask the people - along with trolling you will get constructive and good advise who would help you finding the best solution. Don't mind the trolls and orcs - just find your own solution, more courage and everything should come to the successful beginning (not end, since the end means game over)

Best of Luck !

Mavis.

If it is adult try to find work on oDesk, or some other place like that. Find a cheap place to live, buy cheap food, and keep working on the business that did not succeed after work.

All these people say never give up & this or that and half are probably living in their moms basement or in some trailer park shit hole.

Simple fact is if you need a job, get a job. There is no shame in failing unless you let it become shame.

As far as what kind of job to take, well unless you have special skills at something or are good at programming, design ect.. Then you are going to have a hard time finding work in any sort of real world job off the internet using your webmaster skills and most of those places want a degree of some sort unless you are very good & can prove it.

Adult webmaster, just doesn't ring well with most employers & you wont be running anyone's business anytime soon. Most employers would rather have a worker bee, than someone that thinks they know how to run their business.

The simple fact is, if you need a job try to find the best paying job you can find with the most covenant hours, as long as you can stand the work and rebuild if you intend to restart a business.

The point being, the job is just a side step, so no need to focus on what it is. Just as long as it pays enough & the hours allow you to work on your own stuff.

I had a recent business failure... and found I was eating into my savings more and more. I made the decision to look for work... and 2 weeks later I had an offer on the table, first job I applied for. Been working since.

Happier now that I'm cashflow positive and will continue working on my side web project and launch it while I continue to work at a job which I actually thoroughly enjoy.

Entry level.

It's hard to explain to someone you're desperate for a job from that you have valuable business experience. In their head they are thinking "if you had the experience we need you wouldn't be sitting here right now." They won't say that though, just think it and not call you back.

Focus less on "business experience" and more on your skills.

Nobody wants to hire you to help them run their business. They want to hire you as an employee that does what they say without feedback and then once you're in you can start moving up.

18 months or so.

I mentioned it was simply a change of pace for a while, a lifestyle change if you like. I did a lot of travelling at the time, even lived in Bangkok for 6 months of that. My boss was quite envious actually.

Yep... I suck at all the things required to run a business... but have tons of knowledge of web / development / infrastructure.

Focus on that then to get in the door. Expand once you're in the door. Don't go in talking a big game because you're a former business owner... that usually pisses off or intimidates the hiring manager. You'll have to explain gaps in your resume but don't act like you're trying to sell them a solution. Sell them on you being an eager employee with X and Y skills.

I don't think I could ever work for someone else again.

If I had to it would be over the Internet. I would not drive to work.

If shit really hit the fan I'd just pack up all of my shit. Drop it off in my moms garage. Then live in camp sites working on my laptop for the meager amount of money it takes to live there. While there I'd be spending a portion of my day fishing and depending on the local area and time of year, quite possibly hunting.

It isn't hard to make money online. But you do have to work.

Hi

If you gave yourself three months from today to start from scratch and created 66 blogs one in each niche and say used one good reputable sponsor for all the niches, do you think that within 3 months you would be making $4K /month?

So basically it would take first month to setup all the blogs with 15 posts

2nd month just blogged away

3rd month just blogged away

You reckon this will achieve $4K/month? All blog will have no backlinks, I will simply just be relying on content and Google to give me traffic for it

Thanks

B

Get in touch with a well respected program, ask if you do 'X' amount of work if they can give you a bonus. If you're working like a NAZI for them they'll encourage it

Bonus for doing work? Or do you mean bonus for making them money?

Most good programs have a budget for 'Encouragement Sales'/Bonuses, most the time you won't realize that a sale was actually a bonus/encouragement sale, they gave it to you as a reward for something you created, or to remind you to promote them again. If you speak to the programs and show them what you can do, you might be able to come to some kind of agreement, as long as they know they're getting plenty of work out of you.

So basically it would take first month to setup all the blogs with 15 posts

2nd month just blogged away

3rd month just blogged away

You reckon this will achieve $4K/month? All blog will have no backlinks, I will simply just be relying on content and Google to give me traffic for it

Thanks

It would be a better idea to spend some of that time learning about SEO before you went out, and tried to build a blog network. If you can build 60 blogs that actually rank for highly relevant keywords that have a decent search volume then I'd think you can make some money...The problem is that if you just register some domains, and post content; you may not rank very well for many of your keywords.

The first thing you need to learn is keyword research. Email me at lunaticpics[at]yahoo.com, and I'll try to help you out.

Anyone who so lazy and clueless they have to ask other people for suggestions on what to do with their life isn't capable of doing anything (successfully anyway). Especially a pothead.

No harm in getting opinions, who said that I am going to do what you say anyway?

Well you asked what job other people would do. It's useless.

What matters is what you can do, what you're qualified to do and what is available.

Basically it's a waste of time asking people what works, because the only thing they know about is what they do. And what works for other people doesn't work for everyone; if it did, everyone would be doing the same thing.

And BTW, I saw some people saying "hit me up" or they'll help you out. People who say shit like that are usually nobodies who just want to help themselves.

Nothing wrong with asking for opinions or even help, but ultimately it's pointless; what matters is what you can do, and what you're willing and able to do.

Personally I don't believe you'll make $4k/month in 3 months doing blogs, but who knows. Try it and see. You'll end up making something, and it's far better to just do stuff than to ask people here what to do and get 25 different answers.

If everything fell to pieces tomorrow...

I'd immediately (today) go out and get myself a gig playing guitar at a nightclub (solo or in a band)
I'd have Claudia Marie go straight to the nearest titty bar and start dancing.

Between the two of us (mostly her) we'd bring in 3 to 4 grand in cash every week right away.

If I were all by myself with no wife. Then my money would be a lot lower....but so would my overhead. heh-heh
I'd still play guitar for a living, just like I did from 1978 until the mid 1990's. Plenty of gigs all over the country..and I have the gear to play in either a band or to do a solo gig.

I am sure that Warchild would be the first one in line once you hit the road to buy tickets to the concert.
