Their main page has a lot of leaks, specially that big banner that links to adult friend finder. And they do not say if they even share what the user you send spend at those sites.

But even if that were not enough, their "whitelabels" are not really white, and has this label:

Which is an indication to the search engines to consider the main page their domain chaturbate.com and not the whitelabel domain. This is the most unacceptable thing for us, and it ruins a lot of things. Any backlinks you get to your whitelabel will help the most to their main site (without referral code of course) in the search engines.



This is to play dirty.

I hope someone from there read this, so they change this, and the rest read this too, so they don't promote them until they change these things.

And maybe in three years more of your sponsors will do this too because you don't care and it'll cut your earnings 30% for nothing. All because you're okay with it. See how it works?

The level of shit people collectively put up with affects all of our checks eventually. Greedy people will do whatever they feel they can get away with. That's another reason why the adult affiliate industry is in the shitter for most. Too many people rolled over and shut up.

I agree that this is not right.
But many programs today treat their affiliates not right to shave as much as possible.
I learned to not care about it as long as the ratio of spent time, money invested, bandwidth burned /to/ sales is positive.
However, if a program goes hardcore on affiliates shaving everything and there are no sales at all or very little then a program is not worthy.
I would also very carefully consider focusing on a single program or on very few programs because one day sales may be gone and all hard work fucked. Things are changing all the time.

In fact, use logic: each program who really shave so much will lose most or all the affiliates, as they compare with the higher sales/conversions of other programs who do not shave. No one uses one program once and for life, there is competition and free choice enough, I don't see a monopoly where you can choice only one program per niche, so he can do as he wishes. Let's say every program shave 50%: but then even one program who does not shave, would show double the conversions/earnings. As result, every affiliate would end up using it, and dropping all the others. I am not seeing this happening, people try a little of every program. In a competitive market, it is not logic to believe every program can shave and do well like others, they would be outperformed by even the only one not shaving as it existed.

You make many assumptions.

1. Affiliates don't have perfect knowledge of shaving and they don't always know of all the other sponsors and how they convert.

2. Not every affiliate has an easy means of swapping out links without intense labor. With some methods it may not even effectively be possible.

3. "In a competitive market..." It's not a competitive market in adult. Especially for cam programs there are just a few and they all have various issues or skeletons in their closets.

4. Many programs aren't relying on affiliates anymore in 2013. Affiliates are bonus money with many of these guys. For the blatant shavers it's easy free money by taking advantage of the suckers. Why wouldn't they take your traffic and pay you for 10% of it if you are willing to do it?


Shaving does exist and it has existed for a long, long time. There are thousands of messages of proof and somewhat reliable declarations on webmaster boards. They range from affiliates sharing convincing data and accounts to screenshots of shaving software (see sig) or programmers openly acknowledging that shave capabilities are one of the main things affiliate programs ask for when requesting custom software.

In my opinion anyone who says shaving doesn't occur or tries to say that it almost never happens (like under 10% of the time) is either new to the industry or is dishonest as hell. I would NEVER trust such a person by default.
