I'm not fan of Apple products at all ( honestly I'm opposite ), but I'm looking for ultrabook in the price range $1500-$2000 and from what I'm seeing Macbook Air is the best. I tried hard looking for Win .. I liked the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, but there's problems with Wi-Fi, display yellow and such shit plus it looks cheap inside with some plastic etc. I don't want to buy something not so cheap and have problems like these. So in the end the last couple of days I decided to get the MBA (and will install Windows on it lol)

We're opening our 2nd shop on Saturday. We are opening our central kitchen/warehouse on Tuesday. I looked at all the options out there and it wasn't even close, considering price, power, and apps to integrate all three locations.

Ipad 3s for everyone using OneDrive (or SkyDrive, they keep changing names) and Office 365 for iPad - 5 licenses for $99 a year. I tried on Android and had serious synching issues with Excel. I tried Skydrive for Business and it was too fucking hard to explain to everyone, whereas the personal version (free) is great. On top of that, I purchased all 5 iPad 3s used in Malaysia at an average price of $250 a piece (16GB, wifi only.)

I did have my eye on the Surface Pro 3, but for our set up, not worth the price.

So I guess the answer is - whatever works for your situation.

The HD on my MacBook Pro failed this year. I seized the opportunity to install a 750gb drive. I had the Genius Bar run some tests on it and apparently my battery is around 65% capacity to I've ordered a new one.

All in all, this is the best laptop I've ever owned.

I paid for my lenovo around 700 $ almost 3 years ago and I still love this ultrabook. light, 12'5 screen, ideal for travel (which actually I do a lot)

So I guess that for 1000 $ you can get something really nice from them these days...forget about touchscreens and windows 8, just my

the only problem that lenovo (and ibm before) has is the tape connecting motherboard with LCD. sometimes it gets broken (actually it happened in almost every lenovo that I had), but usually it happens during 2 year warranty.... if not - cost of repairing it is around 100 $...

Its easy for an OS to be wonderful when you only support 12 pieces of hardware you also made. Where windows has to support over a million possible combinations. Since windows xp, Ive never had a problem, no blue screens of death. And I also own a 2013 macbook pro retina which tends to run hot and really doesnt like any other browser except safari.

I just attempted to wipe and install Yosemite on a Macbook Pro. It won't install and I go to Google to see what's up.

Seems there's a problem with the installer and the fact that I upgraded the RAM without paying a 500% markup to Apple. Ton's of people pissing and moaning about it.

Check the post above. They know it's an issue too. And it's only certain 3rd Party memory. I'm guessing Apple doesn't have a deal with Corsair.

Oddly enough, the Hackintosh boxes were updated within 24 hours of Yosemite release without a single issue.

Both MacBook Pro and iMac were upgraded from base 4GB of RAM to their maxes of 16GB and 32GB using 3rd party RAM from Crucial.com

I think both Mac and PC hardware both have the same life spans. But with my expirences I noticed Mac has Zero software or hard ware compatibility issues.

If shit is not working right within your system, it might as well be broken in my opinion. Not being able to get to work immediately when you turn on your machines, equals broken to me. Im not trying to trouble shoot and search the net to find missing dll files to make shit work, when I have work deadlines.

The great thing about Mac is everything just works together seamlessly. That bad thing, is that its not as customizable as a PC, closed system and platform, very expensive, Way less bang for your buck and the fan boys are way annoying. lol

The great thing about PC is that you get a lot of bang for your buck, its very customizable, and lots of software and hardware is available for it. The lame thing is that all of that PC customizing, great paper stats, don't always work well together, the software and hardware isn't all uniform and isnt guaranteed to work with your custom setup. Lastly, if you have a PC, all of your buddies will come ask you questions on how to fix it. lol

It comes down to whats important to you as a User.

For me, I need it to work 100% of the time when I turn it on. All of my Macs and phone work very well together. I will pay more for reliability every time.

I had a Mac G5 break down 4 years after my 2 year warranty expired. Took it to the Mac store, got quoted $600 to get it all fixed and back to where it was before break down.

Did not care what it costed, was editing a shit ton of stuff and was crunching video for 3 weeks straight all day all night long. I worked that thing over. I had a deadline and more footage and content that needed to get out. Didn't have time to customize and tweak another system.

3 days later I came in to pick up my machine and when it came time to pay, I didn't get charged. I was like WTF!!?? Really?? Why? I was told that what happened was not suppose to happen. And was further told that because it wasn't suppose to happen, they would fix it for free.

Cooling system pretty much blew up and fucked up everything inside except the hard drive.

That G5 still works. I don't use it anymore, but I'm about to whip it and give it to my 6 1/2 year old daughter this week.

Brand loyalty and a company that stands behind their product is what keeps me buying apple. The only failed Apple product I have had fail, got fixed for free, when I really needed it.

To PCs defense, I have heard that the newer PCs and operating systems do work better than when I made the switch. I have one PC laptop with Windows 7. It seems to work when I turn it on 4 times a year.

If most of your work is writing, HTML, surfing, blogging, photoshopping, designing etc, get a Macbook Air. They are super light and portable, with batteries that a good 8 hours of real use, a beautiful bright high res screen and an SSD drive. Fantastic machine.

The Macbook Pro's are bigger and more expensive, and have faster CPU's so they are better suited for video & rendering I think. If you don't think you need this, save your money and go for the Macbook Air. I have one myself and love it.

Every iphone but the 5s/5c and 6... I have the 6 plus now and it's great.

Only the 1 has had a issue.

Well I'll be doing some video editing (not much), Visual Studio (coding etc.), and the usual surfing, blogging and things that don't need super power. I have more powerful desktop machine for the heavy things to do. Just my laptop is old already and I want to get thin and light machine.

Just set up of the new Macbook Pro I just got.

1) Turned it on.
2) Entered iCloud password.
3) It just worked.

Bookmarks, Mail Accounts, Passwords, WiFi connection, you name it, it all worked. Gone are the days of setting up all your shit when you get a new machine. I literally had to do nothing and I was right back where I left off with the Macbook Air.

I did have to download some of the third party apps I like though of course.

I disagree. I have had Air's since day 1. I'm a product guy, so I am doing all the above that you mention and the memory pings out. You need a Macbook Pro if you want to feel like you're driving a Ferrari work station at the office. I gave my Air to my GF so she can go on Facebook with it. I wouldn't want to use an Air for work ever again. They're still good machines, just not suited for web mastering duties. I would tell any traveling sales person or equivalent to get one though. Great for email and just general browsing the web, etc.

I had a few dell laptops and an alienware m15x that broke more than it worked. Been using macs for the past 4-5 years and havent had a single issue.

Bookmarks, Mail Accounts, Passwords, WiFi connection, you name it, it all worked. Gone are the days of setting up all your shit when you get a new machine. I literally had to do nothing and I was right back where I left off with the Macbook Air.

I did have to download some of the third party apps I like though of course.

Thats all I want! My shit to work with zero effort, so I can get to work on what makes me money.

I tried hard looking for Win .. I liked the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, but there's problems with Wi-Fi, display yellow and such shit plus it looks cheap inside with some plastic etc. I don't want to buy something not so cheap and have problems like these. So in the end the last couple of days I decided to get the MBA (and will install Windows on it lol) Have A Nice And Productive Day!

We are opening our central kitchen/warehouse on Tuesday. I looked at all the options out there and it wasn't even close, considering price, power, and apps to integrate all three locations. Ipad 3s for everyone using OneDrive (or SkyDrive, they keep changing names) and Office 365 for iPad - 5 licenses for $99 a year. I tried on Android and had serious synching issues with Excel. I tried Skydrive for Business and it was too fucking hard to explain to everyone, whereas the personal version (free) is great. On top of that, I purchased all 5 iPad 3s used in Malaysia at an average price of $250 a piece (16GB, wifi only.) I did have my eye on the Surface Pro 3, but for our set up, not worth the price. So I guess the answer is - whatever works for your situation.

I seized the opportunity to install a 750gb drive. I had the Genius Bar run some tests on it and apparently my battery is around 65% capacity to I've ordered a new one. All in all, this is the best laptop I've ever owned.

Where windows has to support over a million possible combinations. Since windows xp, Ive never had a problem, no blue screens of death. And I also own a 2013 macbook pro retina which tends to run hot and really doesnt like any other browser except safari.

But with my expirences I noticed Mac has Zero software or hard ware compatibility issues. If shit is not working right within your system, it might as well be broken in my opinion. Not being able to get to work immediately when you turn on your machines, equals broken to me. Im not trying to trouble shoot and search the net to find missing dll files to make shit work, when I have work deadlines. The great thing about Mac is everything just works together seamlessly. That bad thing, is that its not as customizable as a PC, closed system and platform, very expensive, Way less bang for your buck and the fan boys are way annoying. lol The great thing about PC is that you get a lot of bang for your buck, its very customizable, and lots of software and hardware is available for it. The lame thing is that all of that PC customizing, great paper stats, don't always work well together, the software and hardware isn't all uniform and isnt guaranteed to work with your custom setup. Lastly, if you have a PC, all of your buddies will come ask you questions on how to fix it. lol It comes down to whats important to you as a User. For me, I need it to work 100% of the time when I turn it on. All of my Macs and phone work very well together. I will pay more for reliability every time. I had a Mac G5 break down 4 years after my 2 year warranty expired. Took it to the Mac store, got quoted $600 to get it all fixed and back to where it was before break down. Did not care what it costed, was editing a shit ton of stuff and was crunching video for 3 weeks straight all day all night long. I worked that thing over. I had a deadline and more footage and content that needed to get out. Didn't have time to customize and tweak another system. 3 days later I came in to pick up my machine and when it came time to pay, I didn't get charged. I was like WTF!!?? Really?? Why? I was told that what happened was not suppose to happen. And was further told that because it wasn't suppose to happen, they would fix it for free. Cooling system pretty much blew up and fucked up everything inside except the hard drive. That G5 still works. I don't use it anymore, but I'm about to whip it and give it to my 6 1/2 year old daughter this week. Brand loyalty and a company that stands behind their product is what keeps me buying apple. The only failed Apple product I have had fail, got fixed for free, when I really needed it. To PCs defense, I have heard that the newer PCs and operating systems do work better than when I made the switch. I have one PC laptop with Windows 7.
