He can't deny his intention in the very first post.

If it's not the girlfriend (or she doesn't exist at all) - at the very least - he's attempting to fraudulently collect money from people under false pretenses.

His hostility and anger towards people who were initially willing to help out and donate to his situation is irrational and just...beyond ridiculous. In essence - he's pissed off because he failed to provide any shred of proof of his girlfriend's condition (or existence) - and he got called to task on it. Then he dumps the lack of proof on his 'girlfriend' by saying it's her wishes not to disclose anything. How convenient.

To me, his anger, indignation and hostility at this point is simply further indication of his deception. Trying to put up a brave front when his hand is caught in the cookie jar.

He's not calling the police. He would never call the police. He's lazy, manipulative and dumb, but not full retard. Saying that is just a feeble attempt at reclaiming some credibility which of course, he can't and will never prove he did.

for real though, I am blown away by this fuckery. all the evidence points to this being a huge scam but I still can't wrap my head around the idea that someone could actually do what it appears that he's done. How someone could fake a disease that has touched so many people, could post a fundraiser on a site filled with people who need real assistance in coping with real problems.

Earlier this evening I re-read all 12 pages of the thread...re-convinced myself reporting it was the right course of action - and submitted a report to Sudburycrimestoppers.com detailing events in this thread and provided all pertinent information for their consideration.

The tip submission was verified with a confirmation code and password for follow-ups and/or further contact.

The matter is now in the hands of Sudbury authorities.

Having a wife with a severely disabling condition (rhumatoid arthritis) taking methotrexate (chemo) infusions, weekly cortisone injections in all her joints and a litany of other meds - makes me very sensitive to this sort of fraudulent crap and motivates me to be pro-active.

If at any time it qualifies for any sort of monetary reward - I will donate all funds to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Arthritis Society and publically post the receipt to GFY.
