Go out to dinner often?

We go out for a nice dinner every couple weeks. Been cooking most of my food to be more healthy, but when we go out, we always look for something different.

My girl looks on travel zoo a lot and found a deal for a restaurant in Studio City called the Six. Nice place, had the Pho Soup and a Chicken pot pie. The food is pretty good, had a bottle of Malbec and just enjoyed the company.

We got a coupon for the dinner on Travel zoo for $49. Dinner cost a total if you just walked in at $108. Not counting tip. We gave the waitress the coupon and when the bill cam, it was only $12. So we got a $108 dinner for $61 bucks. I think we may do this more often! Tipped her $20..

Everyone likes a deal. I however cringe at the thought of having Pho at the same place they server Chicken pot pie.

The wife and I booked a reservation at Pier 61 in Port Dalhousie this Saturday night. Celebratin' my father's b'day...and mother's day. We've been to the restaurant once before, it's upscale...great food, big portions and reasonably priced. Plus the view through the windows overlooking the harbour and marina is amazingly picturesque.

Port Dalhousie is famous for the Rush song, "Lakeside Park".

Good Pho, should be had at a Vietnamese restaurant packed with Asians. They should speak little to no English and the pho should cost about 5-6 bucks.

Agree do not wear a nice shirt when eating Pho..lol

It's pretty funny how ruble denomination made out prices closer to yours. Two days ago we had a dinner in Tap & Barrel Pub. The total price with a tip was about 13000 rubles for 4 persons. So, according to the current rate of dollar, we paid only about $250 ($63 per person). But just a year and a half ago it would cost us about $400 ($100 per person). Consider it as a good reason to visit Moscow now ruble is so weak

I was in the cold war, so believe it or not, I would really like to visit Moscow. I love looking at old architecture. I never thought I would ever see a communist country, yet last year I went to China. Things are going pretty good for me, so maybe I will see your country some day. I make sure to let you know!!

We have favorite place in Carpinteria California called the Palms, they bring you a raw steak and you cook it. I took everyone out for my birthday last year and the bill was only $300 for 6 people including cocktails. Everyone was eating steak and lobster and crab leg. Love that place. Been open for over 100 years.

We used to eat at restaurants quite a bit. But unless it's for something special, Real BBQ, Chinese Food (we have a great one about 30 min drive that's authentic with awesome dumplings), I prefer to cook at home. With the availability of great ingredients, the food I can make is better than the restaurants in the area, and for a fraction of the cost. We just got tired of going out and thinking the food was "Meh" Plus I can have as many beers as I want and not have to worry about driving.

The other night I made Pho for dinner, and it was as good as our local Viet/Thai restaurant. Was actually surprised how easy it was, now I just need to get the recipe for their yellow curry soup.

There are no communist countries anymore. China is de-facto a capitalist one. North Korea has always been a kind of sect which has nothing to do with communism. Even Soviet Union was a Socialistic Republic where even communists didn't believe into communism (sounds weird, but it's truth) - it was a society of pretending people which has collapsed when its citizens have decided they don't want to pretend anymore. There was the famous referendum in March of 1991 when Soviet people said "bye bye" to the communist party.

As about the old architecture, so you should hurry. Those headless morons in the Moscow City Hall are gonna ruin it completely and turn into something like this:

In fact they are already doing it...

Fancy restaurants do little for me. Some times the best places are the crappy little wholes in the wall. I like character, not feng shui.

We eat out twice a week, usually Saturday and Sunday but cook weeknights. We mostly eat out at places less than $80 for both of us but every couple weeks we will do somewhere a bit nicer for a date night, usually a good steakhouse.

When you're alone, its ok. But you won't bring your wife/girlfriend to some ugly hole. What about the atmosphere?

Yes because when you compare prices you can take random restaurant from one country and random restaurant from another without any consideration of at which price scale both restaurants are in each country.

Not to mention picking most expensive city of one country and comparing to some random city of other.

Not to mention even not knowing WHAT was eaten.

Seriously...

I didn't get it. The prices in rubles have changed for about 10%, while ruble to dollar has dropped for 60%-70% (in good times the drop was 100% and even more). So definitely everything here costs much cheaper to me now. Thank you Allah for the low oil prices!

Hmm.. Do you really mean you don't know what are you eating? Are you not sure when you eat arugula, basil or salad? Maybe lamb and beef tastes the same for you? Sea bass and trout? What about Guinness and... say New Castle? Do you really can's differ one to another? Maybe Jagermeister and Bourbon? For real?

Are you really that stupid or are you just being a prick?

Obviously he means are you talking about the price of a hamburger for dinner or the price of a steak dinner.

I don't eat krustyburgers (keep that shit for yourself). As about steaks, so I won't confuse Texas or New Zealand Angus with the Russian one (we just have no appropriate climate to keep and grow this breed in the right condition, even if companies like Miratorg claim they can). So I still don't understand what are you both talking about.

BTW, can you really sit in front of your lady, squeeze and bite some stinky burger while she's watching at you? That must be soooo disgusting
