You have said multiple times that Nate Silver is corrupt and can't be taken seriously. . . as a matter of fact you do this a lot. You say polls are fake until they give you the result you like. You say Nate Silver can't be trusted, but now you use him as an example of how Hillary is leading.

Which is it. Is Nate Silver not to be trusted, or is he?

Then why are you attacking me? Where's the logic in this behavior? WHy the fuck are you trying to gamble on a person you claim to dislike.

I agree with the sentiment of voting for someone who is not part of the government establishment and for someone who might actually represent the people and not big interests etc. However, I think Trump is just not a good choice. I don't think Hillary is either. I see this election as a mulligan and hopefully in 4 years we have better options.

Look. in all seriousness and honesty. I think a Trump presidency would be a clusterfuck of the highest order. Any sane person would. But I would not be broken hearted should he be elected. Why? Because it just may be a small price to pay to curb the never ending onslaught of bullshit politicians with bullshit, covert agendas, slowly selling this country up the river. Hillary Clinton is the absolute embodiment of every god damned thing wrong with this country and it's government. Say what you will about Trump... but, there's no denying that he has listened to what the people have to say and is running on a platform of exactly what most people are clamouring for. Will I be voting for him? No. But god damn it I'll be cheering the crazy son of a bitch on.

no kane...nates number is bullshit. his map is a liberal fudge factory, look at all the blue in the rust belt, & florida. please...you know i think trump will win, so my number is much different than nate silvers 80%. i posted my map in my own thread that outlines which swing states i think trump captures. i give trump up to 313 electoral votes.

i simply used nate as a publicly known quantity that is providing an election probability. had i cited an obscure poll or gambling site, would you trust that number?

No, no they wouldn't have. If anything has been made painfully clear with this election, it's this: Anyone that would even consider voting republican is completely fed up with typical republican bullshit. that's true because that's the only reason donald trump is where he is right now.

You can't say his number is bullshit, then cite said number as a reason to get better odds in a bet.

I think Trump will get about 200 electoral votes.

We are very much alike on the idea that we need someone to change things up. There is part of me that wants Trump to win just to watch the shit show that unravels from it. However, there is part of me that thinks he would be sending our troops into combat just to show the world how big his dick is.

Personally, I don't think a Trump presidency would bring about much change. I think the biggest agent of change would be to get rid of the lifetime politicians in the House and Senate and enact term limits.

nates number is bullshit, In My Opinion...but nate is publicly regarded as a quant on this matter, so for wagering purposes, since that is where liberals think the election stands. that is a reasonable number to use.

im entitled to have my own take, different from silvers. i give trump a solid W.

& there are more sources than silver that put hilary at least 70% chance to win...so debating the origin of the odds is mute.

hilary gamblers can lay market odds or STFU...

We are going to war and many people are going to die no matter who wins. This is one inescapable fact that can not be avoided. I too hope it isn't our men and women.

YOu're too focused on the man and not paying attention to the complete rejection of the status quo that he represents in my opinion. It's the rejection that we should be fostering and nurturing. To what extent is just depending on what you're willing to stomach. Basically what I'm saying is..

I'll actually be looking closely at the House and Senate races than the Presidental race. I'll be curious to see how it goes. In the last election Congress had an approval rating of somewhere near 10% yet they saw a more than 90% reelection rate. I'm curious to see how it goes this time around. If people are really willing to buck the status quo they should also then be willing to vote out their sitting representatives and/or Senator.

What I hope he does is show others that they can run and that they don't have to be part of the big political machine to do so. If this election or the next one show some movement towards getting the lifelong politicians out of the House and Senate I will give him credit for getting the ball rolling. That said, I have always said that a lot of people talk a good game, but aren't really ready to play the game. They say they want change, but when it comes down to it, they don't really want change and won't vote for it.

I'm sure that you're just as aware as I am that only the nerdiest of political wonks pay much attention to to rep. and senate races (generally speaking). So, I would caution anyone from holding out any hope what-so-ever that interesting change would come from either. Basically with our governmental structure interesting change will only come either from the bottom up (the masses in outright revolution) or the top down (a radical chief executive). Certainly not the absolute quagmire clusterfuck shithole middle of the houses.

And as it currently looks the only interesting game in town is Donald "Grab 'em by the pussy" Trump. As depressing as that is.

It would be interesting to see how a Trump presidency would affect the next midterm election. Typically the party that controls the White House tends to lose some seats. I wonder if there would be any larger changes downstream from him. Sadly, if he were to win, he would be surrounded by career politicians so I wonder how much change might actually happen.

Personally, the only way I see real change happening is if someone ran for President and created their own party to do so. Like Perot did when he ran. The Reform Party actually got some people elected at the state and local levels, but sadly it collapsed into chaos and became controlled by crazy people. It would be cool to see someone do that and have the party remain viable.

It's undeniable that Trump has exposed the Republican party to be the souless pack of fucking idiots that anyone paying attention and willing to be honest with themselves could already see. I mean, fucking shit, McCain and Cruz both endorsed him after being dealt indignities that would get a person's ass kicked where I'm from. He's already done a massive amount of damage by sheer force of his own narcissism. To me that's astounding and I could not applaud what's going on there more. I think his presidency would bring that ten fold. Whether or not that sort of change means good things to the American people is doubtful.. but shit.. it's happening on an unprecedented scale and degree the likes of which we have never seen. Any step towards completely fucking up this batshit crazy Status Quo trajectory we have found ourselves in is a step in the right direction.

I could almost hop on board with a new party Idea. But the two parties are WAY too deeply ingrained into American culture to be simply side-stepped by a new party. The only way we are getting past this nonsense is complete revolt in the established parties. The coup is well underway on the republican side and I'm more than angry that the democrats haven't, and seemingly refuse to, follow suit.

Win or lose it will be interesting to see how the republican party reacts and what they do going forward. If Trump loses will they look at the party and change or will they just keep repackaging the same bullshit and hope it works this time. The democrats do the same thing, but so far their base hasn't gotten fed up with them.

If Trump were to lose it would be great to see the Republican base continue to reject the same old career assholes that always run.

While I really dislike Cruz as a person, I respected him when he refused to endorse Trump because of what Trump said about his wife (although Cruz played that game as well when he posted the pic of Trump's wife), but he lost all of his credibility when he caved and endorsed him.

What Trump has started isn't going away anytime soon. Unlike the astroturfed nonsense that was the Tea Party, this is a genuine movement of people that are fed the hell up and it is beautiful to witness. I see exciting things happening in the Republican party going forward.

Shillary will still win. Even if the majority votes Trump. Do you really think we live in a democracy?

Miracles do happen - the arrogant establishment overestimated themselves with Brexit, and the people schooled them.

I've put some money on Trump
