Filming is OK.

Commercial use (porn shoot) is not!

Oh, now I know where all the voeyur sites get their material.

LOL Who cares what they are as long as they're putting money in your pocket.

There's no problem filming in an AirBnB as long as you clean up afterwards and don't do something stupid like accidentally get the owner's family pictures in the background.

This is hard enough at locations where they DO know it's porn!

It's like every location I shoot at loves to have full covered walls of family pics

FYI - AirBnB's are usually high traffic places - meaning there are a lot of other short term rentals - in addition to your day or two shooting there.

Some neighbors are constantly watching these places.

My last two "shooting without a permit" cases in Los Angeles were both AirBnB locations. Realize that when shooting in a place with a lot of traffic you have to be especially careful with how you, your crew and talent enter the location.

AirBnB is cracking down on sex workers using their locations...

Why are sex workers getting kicked off Airbnb and other platforms without explanation? | Fusion

I don't see it as a moral issue necessarily, however when you don't inform the owner of your true intentions on purpose you *know* for a fact you're being shady because you know they would most likely say no to your request since it's their home and valuables - they don't know what kind of people you'd be bringing in for a shoot since the contract was between you and the owner. It's not like it's a hotel/motel since people actually live in the houses they rent out.

When you're renting an AirBnB it's assumed it's explicitly for vacation - not for you to make profit of off their property because you don't want to rent out an actual studio or a location for your shoot. If you're just starting out, and can't afford fancy accommodations why not shoot in your own apt for starters?

I guess for me the issue boils down to, 'just because I can do something, doesn't mean I should'

In Canada many (if not most) of the AirBnB are's operating like hotels and not charging the mandatory %25 tax. Therefore making them already illegal so in order to press any kind of charges against a pornographer would result in charges being instated upon them.
