When it was parked at hostedtube user time was over 15 mins accordingly from google analytics and that's insane for any porn site!

i had a lot of domains parked at hostedtube but the stats with XXXTube.com stood out. User time on a site scores major points with google for keyword ranking. The stats stood out so much hostedtube.com actually made a decent offer for the domain about 3 years ago.

It has a meaning.
Its short.
and it has the easy branding.

Problem is usually the people that buy these kind of expensive adult domains just forward them to a cam white label or put up some crap landing page (like for example porno.com, xxxvideos.com, xxx.com, sexvideos.com etc.). Why spend $100,000s or $1,000,000+ on a brandable domain and then not use it. It definitely doesn't pay back the investment in type-ins nor does it have much SEO advantage so it's super weird.

Otherwise you could own porn.com and do nothing with it.

one of the main values of this one is the simple type in. Im willing to bet it gets a good number per day. And type in is valuable.

It was stated that it already has traffic and thats a huge plus. On top of that to TOS for it while it was for sale.

All of that needs to be built up with a new domain.

Trust me I get what your saying. but someone with the cash to buy has the resources to finish the build and yes could easily push the main tubes out.

Ford use to rule the market on trucks.

But not any more.

xxx and tube are very generic terms!! Having the domain xxxtube.com doesn't mean you will get all the type-ins.

People don't go into browser's address bar to type it, they usually go into Google and type the words. Guess what, having those words in domain doesn't mean you will rank for that.

At Bing yes, but not at Google, they don't like EMDs.

Like I said, it's a huge mistake to invest nowadays in such domains. The type-in traffic isn't worth the price and bookmarks are not easy to get.
