I have always found this place sobering and honest , you cant BS here for long and not be found out.
The old days where different not so much better but different the board and replies jumped. It is and still is the industry standard. Only posters like Shemp would remember when porn city board was the place to be. In fact I still remember the thread when Lensman post on PC that he just started a new board.

I was a member of PornCity and several others. MaxCash had a private forum as well. There was also one run by the folks from StandardInternet (12 clicks, Mojo, et al) called TunaFishBitch. Oprano, while not as busy, was pretty informational at times too.

Times change, people go in different directions. And social media has put a dent into forums, no question. But there's still a place for boards like GFY, and certainly the privately held boards.

Heh, talking about nostalgia, I was talking with someone the other day about back in the day on the newsgroups when Playboy's lawyers came in and threatened some of the people scanning thhe mage and posting the binaries. I think I still have the attachment somewhere on an old hard drive that, umm -- I think it was a guy named Johnoscan -- who scanned and poosted the cease and desist letter they sent him. I'd argue no one would have known who Alley Baggett was online without those guys scanning the mag and posting to newsgroups and IRC.

Anyway... things evolve. Those of us still around have had to evolve with it. That's just life.

I remember porncity, it was a huge board, shitload of posts. I was a member of like 6 popular adult boards, all of them are dead now.

It was easy for newbies back then.. sponsors provided affiliates with free content, some even offered free hosting. TGPs were the main traffic sources. One could start with no loss.

Heh, a LOT of money made back in the day. I made an absolute boatload with Validate and AdultCzech (AVS systems) using 20 to 40 pics from CD's I purchased from, damn the name escapes me, I think was a company named Zmaster. There was another content site I used to buy from as well, I think it was called WorldwideWebContent or something like that. But yeah, money was flowing. And AOL users would buy anything
