here I have to agree with you because the true situation in syria was never communicated correctly. especially in the USA.

but i remember quite well a contribution that i saw on german and american tv and that went very clearly against assad.
on the same evening i saw the same contribution on swiss tv - here however also pictures were shown in which cars the "peaceful revoluzionaries" who were interviewed came - and these were all covered with logos of al-Qaeda and ISI

here i contradict even if i have to admit that merkel's "stupidity" lay in relying on given promises and signed contracts.
that in the end the problem was unloaded on the shoulders of some countries she just could not take into account. because if it hadn't been so the problem would have been much smaller.
