NJ passes law that require all political candidates to release income taxes for 5 years.

This means if Trump or any of candidate fails to release their income tax filings for the previous 5 years they will not be included on the ballot.

https://www.wivb.com/news/nj-lawmake...rns/1804257829

Remember the many times Trump agreed to release his tax filings and still hasn't.. MAGA anyday now..

There is no requirement for candidates to release anything. These democRats are just butt-hurt that crooked H lost. I'm certain they have more important things to do. After all, they work for US, not for their personal agendas. Also it hasn't been passed. Fake news.

Great law. The idea that people can be elected to any office without revealing where their sources of income, is abhorrent.

Just one house passed it, not the state of NJ

"The bill goes to the Democratic-led Assembly. If the measure is passes there, it would head to Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy."

It will pass, it looks like, but could easily be challenged in court

Awesome, considering Democrats have more money by far in terms of net worth than Republicans. Maybe one day we'll know how leading Democrats like Nancy Pelosi has a net worth of ~$100,000,000.00 in spite of never having a paying job outside of government.

oh, i'm not disappointed. Republicans respect hard work and achievement and Democrats run around screaming "pay your fair share" and "equality" etc etc etc etc and somehow seem to have as many or more millions as Republicans in government.

I'm 100% for every single one of them having to come clean 100% and go on record about how rich they are and how they got rich,.. so that we can all constantly remember that as they lecture non stop about equality and justice and what's fair and what isn't, who's "greedy" and who isn't etc.

So that would be like Republican.. Melina Trump? Just how she report a family net wealth of a billion+ .. when she's not worked in 20 years?

Maybe because she's not the money maker of the family?

yet not one of these people shit in a golden toilet

Politics in all democracy's need a kick up the ass with regards to candidate background checks, just last year it was found here in Australia that numerous politicians on both sides held dual citizenships with other countries, which instantly voided there Political careers... no one had done the homework.

And i'm sure she has nothing to hide being that she demands others release their tax returns and refuses to release her own... then introduces a bill to force Presidential candidates to release their tax returns but not Congressional members or candidates of course.

On what grounds? Invasion of privacy? You can hardly claim invasion of privacy when every president in the past forty years has released their tax returns.

We need complete transparency from our politicians. Right now Kushner is applying for a billion dollar loan from the government to build apartment buildings. I'm sorry, but just the fact that he has the balls to apply for such a loan should put him in prison.

Do you know exactly what Kushner is doing? I call it "OPM" - other people's money. They borrow a billion dollars from the government, rolls the dice and hope to make money. If they make money, great. If not, they walk away without owing a dime. This is exactly what Mitt Romney did. His company would borrow money and buy a company in distress and "hope" to make money while charging huge management fees. Mitt Romney and his company made tons of money no matter what happened. Kushner is doing the same. Kushner will make money from this deal no matter what happens.

These people are evil, vile, and all criminals.

Its quiet amazing how retard your brain runs, Paul Pelosi's major investments and business moves are well documented, if anything I'd guess this Cali property investments are worth above the 200 mill they report.

The fact his wife's been in politics so long would mean that every opposition candidate for years would of been trolling for something.. anything, that got ya now moment. But nadda nothing..

Where as with your boy Trump....

Have you ever been a plaintiff in a civil suit? You don't need "grounds". You simply find a party who can demonstrate harm from an action taken. The judge (in the US) is required to consider any efforts to dismiss the complaint in the light most favorable to the plaintiff. Do you seriously imagine that the Trump campaign won't be able to file a lawsuit? If, then, the action is decided against him, he can appeal. An effort to change the way presidents are elected will with absolute certainty be heard. It will be fast tracked to the supreme court.

Not at all. I am sure that Trump's attorney's will try to fight it. They might even get a hearing. However, it's hard to argue that it's an invasion of privacy when it's been standard for every candidate to release their taxes.

Trump is fighting to keep his taxes hidden. Why?

Pelosi is as shady as they come. Her husband supposedly made all this money investing. Somehow I have a feeling her political connections may have helped his success rate. All candidates for the House Senate or White House should have to release their taxes. It should just be one of the requirements for getting on the ballot.

I agree that all those running for office and positions of influence like this should be required to disclose everything financial before and during,.. 100% and should be held to some reporting standard AFTER their term to prevent setting themselves up for later benefit.

100% agree. We need to find people who want to be in office because they want to better the country not because they want to cash in.

Why Elon Musk is a fast talking hustler who preys upon scientifically illiterate bureaucrats to siphon billions of dollars from taxpayers

It is estimated that since their respective launches, Tesla, SolarCity, and SpaceX have together benefited from an estimated $4.9 billion in government welfare payments. This means that everyday working folks are having a portion of their hard-earned wages handed over to Musk so he can pump out more Model S electric sedans, for instance, which typically sell to buyers who, on average, boast household incomes of about $320,000.

But nobody ever did until Richard Nixon voluntarily did it. He wanted to prove he wasn't shady. lol

Then President Ford did NOT release his tax returns. He did release a "summary" in 1976

Mitt Romney did NOT release his tax returns as a candidate. Remember? Senator Harry Reid made the statement that he "heard" Romney had not paid his taxes. lol

It's all for political show.

So the next time you hear a "reporter" on the news say that Trump is the first President in "40 years" to not show his income taxes...that's because NOBODY did before Nixon did it in 1973.

It's a political stunt. Nothing more.

^^ Trump has been trolling the hysterical leftists this whole time. If he was doing something shady, the IRS would've filed charges years ago. He's just waiting for the right time (or for a law like this) to show that there's no problem, and then he will laugh in their face like always

I never said Trump was the first one to not release his taxes. I'm well aware he is not the first. That said, in the modern age where corruption in the government seems rampant, I think we deserve to know where candidate's interests lie and tax returns can show just that.

If I remember my history correct here (Baddog might be able to fill in).... Ford did not run for President and win. He assumed the office when Nixon resigned, and then when he ran for President he lost.

I disagree with this. It's not for political show; It's to prove that that the candidate has nothing to hide. It's called transparency. Without transparency we shouldn't elect them to office.

But this is now expected of a candidate.

Trump said he would release his taxes. He hasn't. Why not? What does he have to hide?

Do we need to have an investigation?

Trump was the first candidate elected president since Nixon who hasn't released his taxes. (Ford was not elected President.)

It should be a requirement of all politicians to reveal their source of income. Squabbling over who does or doesn't is harming democracy.

Do you seriously imagine that the Trump campaign won't be able to file a lawsuit? If, then, the action is decided against him, he can appeal. An effort to change the way presidents are elected will with absolute certainty be heard. It will be fast tracked to the supreme court.

Trump is fighting to keep his taxes hidden. Why?
I would speculate (and that's all it is, speculation) that he engages in what I'll call "barely legal" tax accounting. If you won a state with 17,000 votes you might do the same thing. Regardless, I don't think it will do him much good. The election is the democrats to lose if they don't keep sucking up to the socialists.

Get it, barely legal cause its a porn board? Hey I have to take the laughs where I can get them. I'm here all week.
