1. It's amusing to see a radical Leftist pretend to be opposed to higher taxes.

2. Robert Reich is a proven liar and criminal who should be in prison.

3. These people say it's horrible that we'll have to pay an extra 5 or 10 cents for a burrito, but they never mention that entire American cities have been devastated by globalism.

Entire communities uproooted, millions of people without jobs or healthcare, and entire cities destroyed.

WHO PAYS FOR THAT?

^^^ didn't watch the video... So Matt26z we are on year 3 of Trump.. Where are all the manufacturing & coal jobs he promised? Trump can put tariffs on China and the jobs will move to Vietnam or some other 3rd world low wage state..

You can't point to any manufacturing jobs that have come back to the US from China. Not a single one.. 3 years in and no big company has brought their manufacturing back to the US.. That's a fact..

You are as gullible now as you were 3 years ago.. Lower tax rates create jobs raise wages? That's a big NOPE! 3 years in and most of the big companies who got the tax cuts kept wages the same and kept laying people off No one hired people because of lower taxes and no one but CEO's and Board Members got paid anymore..

Has it affected your eBay biz? You were doing drop shipping or something? How much less are you making because of the tarriffs?

Yes, absolutely agree with him. Tariffs are just the same as taxes.

BUT.

Look at it as penalising the buyers of those cheap goods that have put so many Americans out of work, on low wages, the loss taxes of losing manufacturing and of course the extra welfare costs.

And hope that this will stop America losing more of it's industries and business.

Quote:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industry_of_China

Industry and construction account for about 48% of China's GDP. China ranks first worldwide in industrial output. Major industries include mining and ore processing; iron and steel; aluminium; coal; machinery; armaments; textiles and apparel; petroleum; cement; chemical; fertilisers; food processing; automobiles and other transportation equipment including rail cars and locomotives, ships, and aircraft; consumer products including footwear, toys, and electronics; telecommunications and information technology.

China has become a preferred destination for the relocation of global manufacturing facilities. Its strength as an export platform has contributed to incomes and employment in China. The state-owned sector still accounts for about 40% of GDP. In recent years, authorities have been giving greater attention to the management of state assets—both in the financial market as well as among state-owned-enterprises—and progress has been noteworthy.
Not that they will stop at just this. Banking and Finance is growing in China at an alarming rate. So when will they stop progressing to swallow up all of America's industries and businesses? Well leave it up to the Chinese and they won't. Replacing the American market with their own buyers.

And don't think they can't live without America. America got to be the #1 world power with mostly it's own production and market. Plus all they want is the elite to be happy, the poor can

On another note I'm surprised to see Crockett complain about paying more in taxes. He's happy to pay more to see more illegal immigrants in America.

Our deficit went through the roof during a good economy while investing $0 into infrastructure? How is that even possible?

Because you buy in so much, the industries and businesses you do have are great at dodging taxes, so few are in decent jobs paying enough for good tax revenues and so many rely on the government for hand outs.

It's not difficult to work out why.

Of course cutting taxes isn't a good way to go. So look at the tariffs as another form of tax. As the video explains.

So you agree that the tariffs are another tax?

I don't sell new stuff in most cases, profit margins are too low on new stuff. I buy used and sell used stuff because profits are much better so tariffs don't affect me much in that business.

When I was doing Trucking.. I 100% saw a drastic drop because of the tariffs. There was a big push before they took affect as suppliers were trying to get as much stuff as possible shipped before the tariffs took effect, so there was a big bump then it started dying very fast.

The company I was running under no longer even hires people in FL, GA, CA, OR or WA because the ports dried up so much they couldn't get loads out for the guys who lived in those states. Meaning if a driver went home in one of those states they couldn't get them loads out. You are talking one of the biggest Trucking outfit in the country completely stopped hiring new drivers from all those states because of the tariffs, but you don't see Republican saying anything about that...

The last few months I drove, not 1 time did I get a load back out of FL if I went home. Every time I left home, I had to dead head up to GA to get a load.. This was 100% tariff related.. In the last 6 months there has been several big & med size trucking companies who have gone under.. "congrats daddy Trump, doing great!"..

Tariffs are 100% the main reason I stopped driving. My truck lease was up in Jan so I turned it in and didn't get another.. Ebay it doesn't really affect me because I don't buy new stuff..

Yes. Adding to the price of goods imported from 3rd world countries that use cheap labour is good and balances out the saving in using cheap labour.

The damage this influx has done to the West is huge. The loss of industries and the jobs, wages, taxes, economy is hurting the West. To allow it to continue because it's easy is tantamount to criminal. Because as I've pointed out where will it stop?

Crockett's bitching because it makes new goods more expensive, but as someone who sells second hand he should be very pleased. More will turn to buying second hand.

As for the great retail boost it was meant to trigger, online is killing that boom off very fast. Shops, stores are closing and companies like Amazon get bigger and bigger. Without hiring more people, robots are replacing them. My daughter got a summer job at an online perfume company, she can't this year as they installed a robot to select the perfumes and box them.
