AmeriNOC customer support now sucks?

I'm hosting with AmeriNOC and, overall, it's fine. I've been there for approximately 7 years.

The support from one particular individual sucks, however. They're refusing to diagnose something fairly simple, something that would have been diagnosed a few years ago without hesitation, and this person also has an attitude problem. Does anyone know if Mike or Chris Eastman are still there? I've been a customer for about 7 years and their point-person is eminently unhelpful.

Can someone recommend a contact? I'm being told that, in order to resolve an issue as basic as this, I'd need to switch plans or pay $125/hour for technical support. This is pretty ridiculous. I'm installing a script which is crashing my site -- I simply need to determine which file is responsible (and any other details). To reiterate, this exact type of problem -- involving a different script -- is something they did diagnose as recently as 2016.

Given the amount of money they've received from me over the years, I'm taken aback by how shitty their (front-line) support has become.

They got sold. I know I left them a long time ago. Hit up Mojo and they can save your ass.

Interesting, I guess that explains it. Their front-line support is atrocious at this point.

Any thoughts on M3Servers these days? I had a good experience with them in 2016.

Cheers guys -- I guess I'll start searching around for a replacement. I'm averse to migrating, but the support has been truly terrible.

Can I get some recommendations? Again, M3 is someone with whom I've dealt in the past, not sure what they're like these days. Markul mentioned Mojo too.

I know Im 'the poo guy' and I'm supposed to talk shit... But, I shit you not...

You really need to talk to Brad at Mojo or Sly at Vacares. If I still had anything that mattered that needed to be hosted, it would be hosted with one of them

AmeriNOC customer support:

Agent: Hello, how can I help you?
Me: Sorry to bother you again -- when was AmeriNOC sold? When did its ownership change?
Agent: I'm not certain
Me: Give me an estimate -- was it in 2018?
Agent: I have no idea; I can at least say not for 2 years since I started working here. It's not necessary for me to know if it's been sold or not, so if it has I'm not certain
Me: What do you mean "it's not necessary"? I'm asking a basic question about ownership.
Me: Who owns AmeriNOC now?
Agent: I don't know
Me: Would that be Omnis?
Me: Is it Omnis, and when did Omnis acquire AmeriNOC?
Agent: I don't know
Me: Okay great, so you don't know who owns your company.
Agent: I'm just a support representative, I don't do anything major with the operations of the company. I'm here to assist customers. Not in particular, no; I'm not sure if a sole owner owns it, if it's publically traded, etc.
Me: Okay - are you working directly for AmeriNOC or are you at a third-party customer support service which AmeriNOC contracts to handle customer service?
Agent: I work directly for AmeriNOC
Me: Okay, and you won't comment on when the change in ownership took place?
Me: No comment or you don't know?
Agent: I literally don't know. All of my activity is recorded and documented, so if I were lying management would definitely find out and reprimand me. If I knew, I'd tell you, but I don't.
Me: Okay... I'm just trying to clarify what's happening with AmeriNOC. No problem.
Me: Thanks, take care.
Agent: To be honest, even if I received communication about it, the only question on my mind would be "Does it affect my job?" Other than that, I don't really pay attention to all the other happenings in the companies I work for. Get in, get my bills paid, get out
Agent: You're welcome, have a good day.

This was an actual exchange I just had with their primary point-person. He's like this on all chats and thoroughly useless.

Thanks Sly and others. I'll follow up with you and others tomorrow!

Omnis bought them, Mike has been with Vacares for 3 years. Your timeline estimate is correct.

An amazing 180 in terms of service. I'll be in touch for sure Sly (thanks to all who made recommendations).

Does anyone know what happened to Webair lol? Is it used by anyone at this point? I signed up in 2012 and cancelled a few months later -- horrible hosting service but so many people were pumping it up here.

Don't do it!

For managed, Mojo

For unmanaged, go Vultr or use Vultr prices on mojo (ask Brad)

I don't have any experience with VAcares, but they have a solid reputation.

HAHA!

They began to suck over 10 years ago. They were in the beginning, one of the best hosting companies in the biz.

Webair? Another bunch of terminal fucking idiots that caused us 100X more problems than they ever solved.

We used to be Amerinoc client for about 19 years and 3 years back when they sold to Omnis Network without informing clients and down time was about 72 hours when servers were moved in a trucks to different data center we werre done with them....

Mike Wessen is with Vacares, Don’t know about Chris Eastmen.

You should moved either to Mojo, Vacares or Total Server Solutions......

We are now with TSS ( Total server Solution ) and happen client

I was with webair until they turned abysmal, then with amerinoc until they turned abysmal. This was many years ago though. Pretty impressive that you stuck with them so long.

I'd highly recommend going with Vacares! I was with phatservers/AmeriNOC from 2003-2016 and they did drop off in the last decade or so but I was too afraid to change but I've been with Vacares for like 3 years and never been happier.

Mojo is also a great company but I still have nightmares of working with webair over a decade ago with another company I worked for.

I was with Amerinoc/PhatServers for a very, very long time and recently made the switch to Mojo. Brad and Natalie have been absolutely fantastic so far. I could not be happier.

Same thing here. They deleted all of our backups without bothering to tell us and despite being customers for more than 10 years never gave us a heads up.

Took us nearly a month to get everything moved.

I have been patient with them and used my reseller account since Phatservers time of the 2000s. Looks like time to move as more and more issues are coming out.
