caddy has far superior auto pilot. they just don't let cars run on it due to lawsuits. caddys only use it for driver assist

funny you should mention that, tesla has a fuck load of solar panels mounted and a shit load of windmills coming...theres this tesla wall thing...most house owners will soon have access to cheap panels...battery tech has decreased in price dramatically and will do so in the next 10 years even more...hyperloop will be powered by solar/wind/battery as well...

the lithium is mined only once and last for decades whilst fossil fuels need to be mined and burned every day...less and less is needed with new battery design...cobalt as well...the new solid state batteries last like 30 years...

total fossil cars on the street will shrink dramatically...some predict 75%+...you use your car only 5-10% of the day...when tesla finishes its autopilot it can turn on 750.000 potential taxis...each owner can have his tesla make him money...the ride will be cheaper than with your own fossil car...hyperloop will be cheaper than public transport and much faster...

you are right...in 2020 recycling lithium is not economically viable...but a battery lasts 30 years...in 30 years recycling tech will advance...so will batteries...the old ones last 30 years, the new solid state ones last even longer...until then there is plenty lithium...

Average life of most of these batteries ( based on thier amount of use and temperature in the locality) is somewhere between 8 to 10 years or 100 to 150,000 km.

Also EPA estimates that to fully charge 100 kWh Tesla battery takes ( based on efficiency of the source) about 5 gallons ( 22 litres) of fuel oil. There is your double whammy. Tesla on a full charge runs for about 300 Km. About the same distance as my wife' s Audi A4 on the amount of gasoline.
