It's 2020. We've all had several years to watch this unfold, and I'm curious to know what everyone thinks about it now and for the future.

The issue we all know well:

There's a proliferation of tube scraper scripts designed to suck content directly from the big, established tubes.
An overwhelming number of these scraped sites use custom players/plugins designed to circumvent the default (sanctioned) video players provided by the originating tubes.
So Pornhub, for example, ends up providing ALL the content, text, tags, categories, video bandwidth, streaming technology, etc — and then the offending webmaster removes and replaces all Pornhub's ads and links with his own.

Question #1: What are the originating tubes doing to fight back / prevent such theft? Is it worth their time to fight back?

Question #2: At what midnight hour does Pornhub/Adultforce reach critical mass and decide they don't need to offer video embeds at all – and merely replace all embedded videos with a "Watch this video on Pornhub" loop?

Like you've said, it's 2020, maybe it's time to get a little more creative. Maybe instead of scraping, you could actually put in some work.

OR

You could just re-post the exact same duplicated content like all the others and party like it's 1999!

We agree. To be clear, I don't scrape porn vids. I work mostly with cams and niche sites.

I'm simply watching the cheap scraping scripts continue to grow and flourish.

We're also seeing well-established webmasters publishing articles teaching newbs how to find and use these scripts... breeding a whole new crop of pirates - (as if the industry doesn't have enough of that already).

I'm just wondering, how long before it comes crashing down on them Google Panda style?

New to the game here, but I thought pornhub has basically stopped the ability to tube scrape by encrypting their videos. If you try and embed one of their videos it either doesnt work with the importing tools or shows their ads which cant be removed. However the scripts still work on their other domains so I guess their IT team hasnt configured all the traffic this way yet.
