Credit card company Visa is looking into allegations that Montreal-owned company PornHub posted pornographic videos featuring children or rape.


These two credit card companies will therefore contact MindGeek, the parent company of PornHub, to verify whether the company is responsible for any illegal acts.

"If the site is known to have failed to comply with the laws or policies of financial institutions or the underlying standards, they will no longer be able to accept payments with Visa," Visa said in a statement to The New York Times ".

For its part, MasterCard has not gone through all the stops to warn that its business relationship with PornHub and MindGeek is in jeopardy. "If the allegations are confirmed, we will act immediately," MasterCard said in a statement to the New York daily. When we identify illegal activity, our policy is to call for the termination of the relationship, unless an effective compliance plan is in place. "

PornHub has been in a storm since the New York Times published a text last week that illustrated how easy it is to access child pornography on this adult entertainment site.


The Liberal Party of Quebec even asked the Legault and Trudeau governments to tighten the screws on PornHub.

For its part, the Montreal-based company reiterated last week that it works hard to detect and then remove offensive content.

Many victims believe that the way PornHub works is why it is so difficult to control what is broadcast.

Because like YouTube, users of this XXX site can post videos themselves. But, they can also upload videos they like directly to the site.

In short, even when a video is deleted because it is deemed inappropriate, it can quickly be put back online by another user.

According to SimilarWeb, PornHub is the 10th most viewed website in the world, ahead of giants like Amazon and Netflix.

So what should a government do to ensure the laws are followed?

Nothing and allow illegal videos displaying kids being abused and raped and people being victimized or enforce the law? So you can scrape a few dollars of income from the practice.

Just the other day I found several full scenes from our site on PH. That was bad enough, but what really raised my eyebrows was that it was attributed to no uploader. Not even 'known'. There literally was no user info data that's usually shown with the clip. After looking at more random full Japanese adult video uploads, I saw a similar trend of zero data shown. Who placed these on the site? Random users or those within the company scraping torrents?

I agree with this. It's a follow the money type of situation with ad networks being the biggest enablers of adult piracy. Most of these 'user submitted content sites' cannot get processing so they need to find other ways to stay afloat.

If a user on PH receives I believe 2 or 3 DMCA's to content on their account, it's removed (the account), but not all other content is removed. Then it just shows blank user data for those other uploads.
