Hello. I am still running an outdated non-responsive but functional gay adult membership site (CCBill) from 2000 and want to convert it to the modern age. What would be the best strategy and tools?

I am aware of adult membership software that gives you all the bells and whistles. But I'm am searching for something more simple that I can maintain myself. I even had bought a very pricy MansionProductions MAS license many years ago but never had used it - maybe better so.

My needs. Easy upload of videos to a database. Have the videos organized by scene and have them automatically displayed in some sort of a video gallery. Video playlist that plays separated clips of a whole scene after another. Clickable list from an index to the video scenes. This alone already would be wonderful.

I have my own server. Right now I am basically hand coding the content without a database.
I know how to use Wordpress, Dreamweaver, RapidWeaver.

I also use OnlyFans JustForFans for other projects and love the simplicity with updates.

One idea I had was building a modern responsive framework with Rapidweaver and use a video database plug-in. Any ideas are very welcome.

It’s a nice script that you can edit only the lic file is encoded , also it’s a one time cost no recurring costs and Konrad for an extra fee will edit the script for you if there is something you need coded.

You can go with either a standard CMS solution like Mech Bunny or PornCMS OR you can have something custom coded just for your needs without the bells and whistles. I am having this done now with Woj, an excellent programmer and dev you can find here on GFY (or PM me for contact info).

As making things look modern a simple responsive design for your Tour and Members Area should work fine. I would check out Bootstrap, a fairly simple responsive-type software for design.

Are you still filming new content or is it all older stuff? Good luck!!

I run a successful OnlyFans and JustForFans but want to awake my dormant but still breathing archive and also re-encode all videos from masters over time to nowadays resolution.

Right. Good question. I stopped updating when I learned how easy updating can be with fan sites. So right now it's a static archive. Nothing rotates. This should happen when i use the new script plus I want to upload new content too.

Interestingly enough I am just working on a concept to start rotation on OnlyFans and JustForFans. With 2.1k posts and 20.9k likes that is easily possible now. Although fan page fans can be incredibly sticky. So I only want to rotate 90 days of best-of and vintage content. Fan pages should always be super fresh. I'm updating 4x per day via the queue on OF and JFF. Fans like that.

Great - so we can maybe motivate and encourage each other to finally do it. You don't want to even know HOW LONG I already procastinate this move.

Regarding your Fan page question. I started with OF in 2018 and learned and still learn a lot. But I think I became some kind of expert in this field now. I am also experimenting with FanCentro, BestFans and Fanlr. Fan pages are not only a disruptive but also a HUGE business now.

The big difference to my more traditional porn site is that you HAVE to become personal and somehow a public figure. Fans want to subscribe to YOU more so than to only your content. This makes a big difference but it can lead to extremly loyal and sticky real fans. The retention is much better. You also can (or have to) use Instagram as trafik sourc. But Instagram/Facebook gets more and more restrictive and decent organic growth is nearly over unfortunately. So it gets more and more difficult for new creatives who want to start a fan page if they cannot bring in a big followership on Instagram or Twitter.

You asked how it is for content "owners". That is not seen often but I could imagine doing it. There are not many studios running a fan page. Actually I still think to publish my studio content also on a fan page. You could be the producer that is visible and talk about your productions with other models. That might be actually quite interesting for fans as well. But the problem is structure (see below).

Usually fan pages are ideal for adult entertainers and porn "stars" who want to kick out all middle men and create their own copyright with their 4K phones. But this means - they have to be technically savvy and become producers and marketeers as well. Not all can do that.

Content owner might also not like the loss of control. After all you rely on a hosted service that could go out of business. You basically don't "own" anything if that happens. But hosting your own fan page on your own server is not really an option. The network effect that OnlyFans and JustForFans can give you is not to be underestimated.

Technically the platforms are really nice. Doing many and regular updates is a lot of fun. You could run your complete business on a smartphone. This freedom and mobility is what I enjoy the most. I also like the tight integration of publishing and marketing. Most fan pages have scheduled posts and queues and a media archive/vault. This makes posting super easy and fast. You can collect tips and send out Pay-per-view-videos. Live videos can be tipped or sold as well. Mass mailing is very streamlined and fast. Billing and reporting is tightly integrated. This means - production, marketing and monetization is all in one package. It's a bit of a dream come true if you started with all this in 2000 like me.

Structuring content is very difficult though. All is more or less in the feed. But that’s how fans are consuming content. This needs a totally different content strategy than with a tube script and structured videos and galleries.

But I think fan pages are the adult entertainment future. I belief that people prefer to become a fan with a real person WITH content. Freshness is key. Paying for an abstract and rotating content archive or studio site is so well known and has become a less loved concept IMHO.

I forsee a big future for fan pages. There will be interesting new platforms evolving and there might be interesting buy-outs. Who might eventuelly buy OnlyFans. Instagram? If that happen we might have a big problem though and it might be time to move to another platform. That’s why I run OF and JFF and soon others in parallel and synch. n.c

Use ai to interpolate all your old updates in batch from 30fps to 60fps
Flowframes on Patreon does it best, message me if you want the best settings

Also you can use dandere2x ai to double the resolution of your old videos, also in batch

the db has 4 or 5 designs, if you look at mine, you´ll notice the index is your own image, text can be changed, colours etc, each page, tours, join, members, you can exchange images, text and lay out is the 4 or 5 designs...

the question probably is what kind of site you got? if you are a model - meaning YOU are the talent and you can add self content daily, push on social, chat with members - then you want a model platform. if you are a Producer, you want a production and distribution platform(s). max distribution and income.

models who make more than a Wendy's salary online spend 40-80 hours a week pushing that product. Producers who make real money online push their content to every channel they can find.

i was at Hegre in the early days. his name was unknown until he opened his forum and started talking directly to the members and fans. then the site skyrocketed.

a few years ago, one of the cms clients set up a lesbian site. he made a fortune quick just by asking the members what they want to see next. which models doing what etc. members get to see what they want and they stay engaged with the site.

Where there is nothing wrong using a "pre-built" system if you are in a hurry or on a budget, most CMS systems are open source and free.

Services that offer their system and templates limit you to what they provide. (for the most part).

The result... most sites look like every other site out there. Christ... here in Minneapolis, you look for a restaurant and surf the web, they all look alike except for the photos. Menus, contact page etc... all so similar... even using different companies to build their site. Gotta love it LMAO!

When you have a system made for you... it's made for you! You get exactly what you want and need and nothing more. You also get the security that no one else has this code making it harder to crack. I see a lot of people here use Word Press, or there are a lot of posts about it... it had the WORST security record of all the CMS or Blogs offered in an article i read back in 2018.

Programmers, like designers, are a dime a dozen these days. I am sure you can find someone good that is hungry and will give you a good deal on what you need.

Anyway... something to think about. Good luck to you no matter which way you go!
