A few years ago, tube and traffic platforms started to sell their traffic on prepaid.
For several years, they definitely made A LOT of money.

But over the past 1-2 years, I see more and more rep of these traffic platforms contacting me, or posting on telegram/skype groups to sell their traffic.

A few years ago, they did not need to proactively look for buyers.
Now not only they need to do it, but they are all competing with each others.

All companies I worked with in the past and now do NOT prepay for traffic.
Simply because, in 99% of the cases, traffic is just not worth prepaying for anymore - this is not 2008.

I'm sure there are less traffic buyers nowadays.
All small guys have been burnt spending $500 and making literaly $32.92 back (i know it happened to me

)

I maintain that, unless you have a very specific product, buying traffic is doomed to fail in 99% of the cases.
Yeah back in the days, Livejasmin just wanted to be everywhere so they were buying without taking care of ROI. But these times are gone.

I'm sure self-served traffic platform are still making good money, but it's nowhere near to what it was even 3-4 years ago.

The problem is many believe they will get sales from traffic they buy.

Often people do not understand that if they have person x visit there site, and they are already members of site xyz, then they are not going to join again and again.
