Shit, I remember the first time I met him with Steve Sweet at the first Phoenix Forum, they were filing content in one of the hot tubs that had a rather large foamy surface, he took pride in stating that the foam wasnt made because of soap, but was the results of all the jizz in the hottub LOL

The government definitely did him dirty with those bullshit Miller Test out-of-state charges because of mailing DVDs

Here is something I wrote about Max in 2008: "...blown away by Max’s charisma. Max Hardcore has that kind of rockstar thing where you stand next to him and he just exudes hotness. He has perfect manners, only you just know he is nasty as all get-out in the bedroom. He has that total Madonna in the living room and whore in the bedroom thing down and he is just very appealing on a basic lizard brain level. Steve Sweet. Now there is a great reference. The only good thing that sorry son of a bitch ever did that was worth mentioning, was being responsible for making porn legal in Canada.

I have not watched the thing for about 20 years, but I know that we shot a 3 and a half hour interview in a seedy hotel room, (With no A.C. - To make me sweat?) where they tried to ply me with beer, get me to be drinking on camera throughout the interview and suggested I wore an old ripped pair of jeans, as it looked 'Edgy' (their words) From that entire interview only half a sentence gets used...

However, the full sentence was actually...

But that sums up that stupid documentary in and of itself. I still got paid for my time, and Lay still got paid for hers, so I cant take issue there, but what a waste of time, when only half a sentence gets used?

But they got what they wanted - The 'Shock Doc' - I met Stephen the producer at a book signing a few years later, and made a light hearted, non serious comment that it would still have had been nice in a way, if he HAD followed Lay for that doc instead of felicity, cause felicity had already left the business and didn't benefit from any of the UK publicity, at a time when this Doc was being shown on average about 4 times a year to huge audiences in the UK...

His reaction was yes, but if we had, we wouldn't have had the story - No one likes a success - They want to gloat over failures...

Sums up these documentary people perfectly...

I can see that it wasn't the last movie for the felicity of 2001.

Ok well i didn't know this Max hardcore.

Well Ive finally managed to find time to watch the new 'Magic lantern' doc in full, and was surprised to see that 'Hardcore' (the doc I spoke of) being featured in this new doc. Again, all I can say is that from first hand experience, none of the stuff which I know about, is presented in a fully accurate light...

Which leads me to conclude that if the stuff I do know about was presented in a twisted manner, why should I believe the stuff that I DON'T know about?

It was also funny to see a couple of brief clips of Lay in a blue shirt, being pushed around and spat on by max. Of all the hours and hours of Max content they could have chosen, they chose Lays scene...

Accompanied by the implication that Lay was being taken beyond her limits, tr@um@tized (Sorry for that silly spelling - GFY 'hahahahah' censorship at work) and physically being abused by the 'Bad Man'...

Nothing could have been further from the truth - That was actually a clip from Lays second shoot. Lay was ACTING! She knew what the Max hardcore audience wanted to see, and provided it... Nothing more than a perforer adapting to the role she was booked for. Infact I believe it was that scene that she was nominated for 'Best Anal' at the AVN awards... Didn't win, but I remember that as it was her 3rd of 4 nominations so far, at that point in her career...

But again, on a side note regarding how 'tr@um@tizing' the scene was, the real trauma came later ! Max took us both out for a meal, at Universal City walk, the same evening. Of course he decided to dress in full 'Max Hardcore' attire - Cowboy Hat and all - And we almost got crushed by fans swarming him, and had to leave the restaurant early!

But anyway, all I am doing is recounting my personal experiences with the Man. Was he a saint? Of course not! He was a pornographer that pushed the limits... The limits of the 1st amendment, along with the limits of the performers who CHOSE to work with him...

RIP Max. As I said in my OP, he was always a Gent to myself & my wife...
