Age Verification: A simple solution - GoFuckYourself.com

So I've just started to look at ways to verify the age of anyone in the UK who wants to join one of my sites. Some look complicated. The idea of letting someone join then making them verify their age is definitely not a good idea and it also seems dishonest.

This looks like a really good and simple solution:

You just add this code:

<script src="https://www.ageverification.org/inject/script.min.js"></script>

at the bottom of any page on your site you want to restrict. It just needs to be still in the body tag.

The age verification screen will only appear for surfers connecting from IP addresses located in states and countries where age verification is required by law.

I tested it out on this test page from one of my sites:

I asked some members of my sites who are in countries with no age verification to see if they could view the page and they all could. Non of them saw the age verification block.

It doesn't cost anything to use and it only costs less that $2 for someone to verify their age.

I think I'll use it for my sites. My plan would be to create a new index page for all the sites that is SFW so let anyone see that homepage. Then for some pages where there is nudity like the updates I'll add the code to it so anyone who is in a country where age verification is required will get the age verification block. But I can leave a lot of pages unblocked like the contact page and the about pages. And I will of course add the code to the join pages of the sites.

So it looks like a very simple solution.

one thing you didn't mention, that you would have found out reading those threads, is they only have to verify once and they are verified for any other site using ageverification.org.

i added it as a one click install option for PornCMS sites.

SO, what i have mentioned multiple times is we need an INDEX of sites using them.

you should really get in on the existing discussions. there's only like 10

Fair point. I just didn't see that thread. I've actually created an Age Verification thread myself a while back. I just got excited about Age Verification Org and wanted a separate thread on it so it would stand out.

It looks like a simple solution to implement to comply with age verification. Even if it's just a temporary thing as something better might become available soon.

But they have no contact page so I can't contact them to ask any questions. I think that is really bad. I find it really annoying when a website doesn't have a way to contact them.

yea i only have 1 client in the UK, who isn't even living in the UK, he's in Prague, with a UK biz, so his biz falls under the UK thing. the other AV options charge the site owner, and he said fuck that.

he has been sending emails out to members and prospects about it and telling them to get a VPN. the login page and landing pages on PornCMS are exempt from the AV popup, so all his old members can just sign in.

i think everybody will just make their main site compliant then pull customers in thru the backdoors. landing pages, doorways, direct marketing.

i have a lot of site owners in affected states, especially Florida, but the regulations and compliance is a lot lower. blurring thumbnails and SFW tours is more than enough for US companies.

i have one site owner in France and she said she will die for her freedom of speech. they might be a bit crazy.

i like ageverification.org but we need to talk to someone behind the curtain. maybe you will have success??

I think a lot of people would be able to build a similar thing to Age Verification Org. Anyone good developer I'm sure. So hopefully similar things will start to appear soon with improvements. I really think Age Verification Org should offer more ways to verify people. The only way they currently verify someone is to ask them to upload a photo of themselves holding up a passport or driving license. I can't see many people wanting or willing to do that. It would be a good idea for them to list on their site all the sites that are using their Age Verification script. Then anyone who is asked to verify themselves with it will see a big list of other sites that they can join once they have been verified. That would encourage them to go through with the age verification process.

I have a big mailing list of current and ex-members of my sites so will be e-mailing them all and welcoming them all through the back door! I also have a preview site here:

and will be happy to give any ex-member of my sites a free password to it. Once they are logged into that it's goodbye to age verification!

How does this implementation deal with protecting assets?

If someone can link to adult content on your tour through a direct link, I don't think this is going to lower your risk for a lawsuit, but I'm not a lawyer.

Do they have an office in Florida to satisfy that law?

It turns out if you dig into their policies they have an email, but I never got a reply from it.

When the AG of Kansas, Florida, or some other southern state sues a site operator using this script, I wonder if they even have insurance to cover the legal fight.

do you just add this code, no need to sign up? and what about wordpress sites, it works on any page?

Yes, you don't have to sign up. Just copy that code. I've just tested it and it works in Word Press. It tells you to put the code at the very bottom of each page you would like to protect, but still within the body tag. Word Press doesn't have a body tag but I just put the code right at the bottom of the page after everything else and it worked. This is from a page at Only Looking which is built on Word Press:

But anyone who isn't from a country or state with age verification can see the sexual images. And they will be able to view normal join page you have always had. Anyone from a country or state where age verification is in place won't be able to use the normal join page so will have to have their age verified first.

that´s actually not my blog page, it´s one of the archives.

I´m in process of either doing sfw images on the blog updates, but with 30 pages of massive amounts of images, it´s going to be hard work.

and the cams page, not sure what to do on that, hence the thread asking what other white labels and cam sites are doing...

Why wouldn't you just use YOTI: https://yoti.com and be done with the problem. In the UK that is the best system to work with to be compliant.

they won´t even accept a gmail to speak with sales, also i don´t think they block pages, so on some sites with SFW tours or blogs with sfw pages, yoti isn´t a great choice for me on my blog...

ageverification.org is a better option for my blog at the moment

Just make your site SFW. Tease the customer into joining, then after joining (or before) run an age check internally. Not really complicated, and you don't need to mess with any 3rd parties, because who knows how that data will be used. What's the issue with that? I'm almost certain you will lose more sales with a popup/redirect than trying to convert them into paying customers from your SFW tour.

Anyway, I think these providers will be used as intelligence gathering platforms for the govt. It's much easier to track data (or subpoena data) from 1 or 2 places, as opposed to trying to go after every small adult website. If you are a larger network, you would want to keep your data in-house anyway. Customers are not easy to capture, why send them elsewhere.
