New Lord of the Rings movie
The next new live-action The Lord of the Rings film is titled The Hunt for Gollum, directed by and starring Andy Serkis, with Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens producing. It is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027. While the plot is set during the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, it explores the story of Gollum's search and the return of Gandalf and Frodo, according to Sir Ian McKellen.
