Not that I think we are doing that great of a job over there.. However brining religious fanatics into the 20 th century takes a little time.
Ever hear of the Salem witch trials? We were a thriving democracy in that time in history. You can't just flip a switch and tell them they have democratic rights, especially when those rights disagree with their religion.

If many in the Republican party has their way this would be happening in the USA today. Folks like Dubya and Delay would make everything a crime that's not part of their religion.
