There are two skunks that come to my backyard everynight and stink up the place. Tonight when I came home those nasty skunks were chilling in my drive way. I had to wait for them to run off so i could come out of the car. How do I get rid of them.

I had skunks living under my patio deck.

Put a trap out for them and catch them individually. You will then need to kill it to dispose of it.

To kill it, you get a large bucket (I had a 25 gallon drum) and fill it with water. Large enough to put the entire trap into and then some. You will put the trap into the water by using a large bedsheet, walking toward the trap holding it up so the skunk can't see you. The skunk has a limited amount of spray so it won't spray you unless it can see you. Use the bedsheet to slowly walk up to the trap and put the bedsheet over the trap. This way, it won't spray and if it does you are proteced just in case. Have someone guide you from afar because you can't look around the sheet at the trap.

Once the bedsheet is over the trap completely, pick up the entire sheet and trap and put it in the barrel / bucket of water. The skunk will probably spray as soon as it realizes this is it's last moments. Don't worry the bed sheet and water will trap the spray.

Wait 20 minutes to make sure the entire thing is drowned and dispose of said skunk.

I had a family of 4 living in the back woodpile.mom and her 3 kids were running around .apparently they have a few dens and will eventually move on.get rid of any hiding places by boarding them up.get rid of any water/food sources and they will move on.
I was afraid they would attack my cat but actually she would sit there and watch the kids play and mom didn't feel she was a threat.
I had a couple of the babies run right up to me and stand a foot away and scratch the ground.needless to say I gave them space and they all moved on.mom comes around once in awhile and probes around but that's it

shooting is not a great idea

they tend to release all of their spray when shot, and if you think a skunk smell is bad when you catch a whiff of one in the distance, it is a whole other story when you are fairly close and they release all....... honestly you won't believe how retch inducing it can be

Not sure how to get rid of them but I can tell you how not to get rid of them.

Don't run it over with your car.

One time I saw a skunk in the road and slowed down thinking it would cross the street but it just sat there and I ran it over. There was enough clearance that it didn't seem to hurt the skunk by must have scared the shit out of it because he sprayed the underside of the car so good that it took almost an entire week for the smell to fade.

I had some skunks hanging around my house last summer and my dad came to visit. All of a sudden I hear this pounding on the door and when I answered it, the smell nearly made me pass out and my dad was swearing up and down. I guess the skunk was on the porch when he turned the corner from the driveway and sprayed him. Pretty funny stuff.

But I have no idea how to get rid of them but leave your porch light on so you don't surprise them coming home late at night.

Someone told me they eat grubs in the ground and if you get your lawn de-grubbed, they don't come around. But I don't have time to find out what de-grubbing is, whatever that means.

The best way to get rid of skunks is moth balls. They can't stand them. My friend had them under his house and that's what got them to move out so the raccoons could move in
