I haven't tried it but I've noticed it before,. Its been around for quite a few months now. I beleive they've even advertised it on tv, (if Im not mistaken) (one of them infomercials)

Looks cool. You can receive phone calls fro free and make them for free to other magicjack users. That was the only catch I could find in the terms.

They just sponsored the college football St. Petersburg Bowl game I watched earlier tonight, Memphis vs. South Florida. which always seems to be the kiss of death for companies, products, websites, etc. That being said I heard it works ok with the exception of occasionally static and tinny reception...

You can call anyone local or long distance for free (not just to other magic jack users). If you make international calls it is very cheap.

Great informercial, but Google and read all about it - what are you willing to give up for cheaper phone calls? Read disclosures and TOC.

It is surprisingly a great little device! I borrowed my friends to try it out and it worked great!!!!

I actually just had a meeting with the 2nd in command of that company, and 3rd largest share holder last week. They are now in Radio Shack, and by spring or sooner this product will be available in Walmarts, and a bunch of other large retail outlets. If you were going to buy stock I would recommend doing it pretty quick. Its pretty cool they built their own network for this whole thing, all in XO data centers.

My friend just got one, and it seems to work pretty well. Sound was fucked up at first, but he played with some of the settings, and now when he calls it just sounds normal.

You have to have a PC with XP or Vista (not ME, or 98, etc).

You can use a MAC, but only System 10+ and it has to be an intel based machine.

Since it works through your computer you have to keep your modem AND your computer on at all times.

They do not offer number portability yet, but are supposed to sometime in 2009 (the ability to keep you old number when switching to MagicJack).

Not certain how to plug it into a phone system, but an awesome solution for cheap phone calls - local, long distance, and even international!

I think the first year is $39.95, billed at $19.95 or $29.95 each year thereafter (not sure which) , and I think they even offer a 5 year deal for like $59.95.

It is certainly a very inexpensive phone service! I may look into myself in 2009, once they sort out the portability thing...

yeap the phone number portability thing is an issue... also to make this lil thing even better they could come up with a way to have it hooked to up the modem without the need to plug it to the usb port... is has to be a big hassle for people to have to leave their pc on all the time to receive calls....

No but I got Ooma and it rocks. Keep in mind, to use magicjack your computer has to be on. With Ooma you just need a connection. It works real well. I was so glad to kick the phone company to the curb on at least two of my lines.
