Things you on eat or drink at Christmas

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Baileys. I swear I only ever drink it around the holidays but we have to have a bottle in the house for Christmas.

What are things that you only have over the Christmas holiday period?

I can't really think of anything I drink liquor wise that changes. I make a holiday punch though on Xmas that only makes an appearance once a year.

On the food side Gingerbread for sure. I love it but I only make / eat it right around the holliday.

Eggnog and sausage balls. I don't know why we only make sausage balls at Christmas since it's about as easy as making toast, but that's the only time we do! Mulled wine too.

I make gingerbread but in cake form - covered with a sugar and lemon sauce. They served that when I was little in Underground Atlanta and I've loved it ever since - but only at Christmas.

Also apple pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas but that's because I'll only use fresh apples straight from the orchard and after Dec. until the fall they're almost impossible to get.

Most of the food we eat at Thanksgiving we eat at Christmas and never any other time: Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie.

Usually have ham, scrambled eggs, bagels, and champagne for breakfast on xmas day.

Dinner is always Turkey, with all the fixings.

I like to celebrate Jesus' birthday in style, so I drink heavily all day long as well

Years ago, I dated a guy who belonged to a big big Italian family. The first year I did Christmas Eve dinner with them, I was totally taken aback. I had honestly never seen this much seafood in one sitting that didn't involve a vegas buffet.
I was amazing and awesome. Love the cultural differences.

As for me, I really only eat cookies at Christmas. It is the only time I have the urge.

I usually grill an entire pig. Takes about 4 - 5 hours. I keep a bottle of Scotch by my elbow. When there is left than 1/4 left, it means the pig is done.

They look very tasty and are always tasty, so continue your tradition. However, they do have nothing to do with christmas as Gingerbread dates back to the 15th century. The first of figure-shaped gingerbread cookies appearing was in the court of Elizabeth I of England. She had the gingerbread figures made and presented in the likeness of some of her important guests.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gingerbread_man A good old british recipe!

Can anyone tell me a good meatloaf recipe for Natalie. She loves meat loaf!

Can't think of anything in the liqour dept I drink on Christmas that I don't otherwise. Usually bring 1-2 bottles of wine and a six pack to the party. So I guess I drink more wine than normal, but not by much?

The thing I love every Christmas is a pumpkin roll with cream cheese icing filling and throwing a bunch of green beans in the crockpot with a pound of bacon and a stick of butter and letting it cook on low for about 36 hours. That and Honeybaked Ham is my entire Christmas meal.

I would love to find a great stuffing recipe though.
