Interestingly, he recently turned down the opportunity to enter the Senate through a vacancy - my guess is that he and his handlers (Baker, Rove, et al), are already plotting and positioning him for a 2012 presidential run, and they figured that the minority Republicans in the Senate will be a feckless bunch to associate Jeb with. If Obama does well over the next few years, and leading into the 2012 campaign, then I think it will be 2016 before Jeb can even consider a run, and by then he will probably be long removed from the political spotlight, overshadowed by Palin and others (Romney, etc).
