How many 10-99 MISC forms are you missing?
I just send 3 e-mails to 3 companies that paid me over $600 in 2008, but did not send a 10-99 MISC.
how many are you missing? My accountant says not to worry about it since it doesn't actually change the bottom line, but I always fear a form sent to the IRS, but not to me is going to trigger an audit. I think we can all agree that would be a pain in the ass even when all your numbers are in order.

You know that you can always call the irs right and ask them which companies sent them 1099's for you and the amount and they will sit there and go over every single one with you. That way you can make sure that what you report in terms of 1099's is exactly the same as what they have on file for you.

Not all sponsors even send 1099's regardless of how much they paid you.
Just go by what your accounting program, method or accountant says. 1099's are not like w-2's that have to be attached to your tax return. Now if you do get a 1099 and it does not agree with your records, then double check to see who is wrong and get the problem fixed. Hugs, Danielle |
