1994 Pontiac Firebird 5.7

Is this a good car or no? Am thinking of buying one and store it home and just keep it,seems powerfull, not sure if it is worth to hold it for many years as classic?

Unless it's the last year they made them, and it has absolutely NO miles on it...then and only then might it be worth something as a classic 20 years from now. They have one at the dealership I just bought my van from. It's Yellow and has 30 miles on it.

I am pretty sure 1994 wasn't the last year, but I don't know for sure.

Probably not worth anything at all the last year was either '00 or '01. Cool car wish they still made them my favorite was the last one`s they were putting out the WS6 and Firehawk, those cars were absolute beasts

2002 was the last year they made these.

If you want a cheap muscle car that can keep up with a Vette from the same year (they have basically the same engine as the corvette in the same year, other than different cam and a few other small things) then it is not a bad car. (referring to 2000 and up)

Stay away from the older stuff, not very fast and you'll have more problems, plus the ones from the early nineties are kinda ugly.

Any of the ones that come with the LS1 motor are what to look for (I think like 97 and up). Stay away from the LT1s.

Ya WS6 might be worth something, but think the first year for those was 96. Of course I beat the shit out of one in my Mustang on the interstate back in like 97 or 98.

No cars made by Ford after 1976 are ever going to be classics.

Hi -

I used to own this car. I loved it and drove it for years. In one way its a classic because it 1992 was the start of the new versions of the Firebird (built here in Montreal), but thats about it.

If the price is right, what you could do is buy it, fix it up, and then re-sell it to a collector. There are lots of firebird sides on the Net and there are lots of people (like me) who REALLY appreciate these cars.

You will always hear opionions from all kinds of people who have never owned one of those cars. My advice would be to just ignore them, and talk to some real owners. They will tell you why any Firebird would have more or less value than any other.

Personally as I said, I loved it (I have owned 10 Firebirds so far). I think the worst ones might have been the 1991's as they tended to rattle alot, but otherwise they were all fun.

Believe it or not, they did ok on gas, and they were safe. I unfortunately crashed a couple of them and walked away without even a scratch.

If you can find them, look for any "Firehawk" Formula's. These cars kicked ass. They were lighter, lower to the ground, and fucking fast. Another good alternative is the WS6 Formula. While the Trans-am's had all the bells and whistles, they were heavier too and felt more "luxury" than the very sporty feeling Formula's.

I have always loved the Firebird / Camaros. Here's my new baby

Enjoy!

1994's were rated for around 275 hp at the crank. They did have some real dogs though in certain years.

The 2000+ models were rated at 320hp at the crank, but most people found they would almost put out that much horsepower at the wheels too. It was sort of a conspiracy how GM underrated them in those years because they were trying to justify the added cost of the Vette.
