There are some security bugs at wordpress 2.8 and some Russians are using it very well, found this shit at bunch of my blogs, so better check all your blogs and do the updates, just a head up and sorry if this has been posted before..

likely not a wordpress issue but a file system permissions issue, the most common hack revolves around file system permission on shared hosting, where another account is able to edit your files because of too relaxed file system permissions.
